Round Top Film Festival Town Meeting Friday
The Round Top Film Festival folks are hosting a Town Meeting at The Halles from 1-5 p.m., on Friday, April 11 and all readers are invited to attend. The purpose is to share with area businesses the benefits of (and ideas for) partnering with RTFF. The “meetings” will be broken down by industry. The day will end with a public open house and happy hour where community members can meet the RTFF team and learn more.
Historical Society
The RTAHS museum has Free Admission every second Saturday of the month (that’s this Saturday) from 1-4 p.m. Visitors have the opportunity to tour three historical homes, as well as a historical church. For more information call (979) 249-5058 or visit roundtopareahistoricalsociety. weebly.com.
Round Top Family Library
Family game day is Saturday, April 12 from 1-3 p.m. An acoustic jam session led by Louie Sellers will be Saturday, April 19. Slow Jam for beginner and immediate players will be 10-11 a.m. Open jam for experienced players is 11 a.m.-1:45 p.m. Open Mic Poetry Night is set for Thursday, April 24 at 7 p.m. This event is open to young and adult poets as well as emerging and established writers. A reception will follow, sponsored by the RTFL Book Club.

Winedale
This month’s Winedale Zoom Talk: Brass Bands & Bullseyes: German-Texans and their Schuetzenverein Traditions. Join the staff of Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites on Thursday, April 17 at noon, as they share the history of German-Texan schützenvereine, or marksmanship clubs. These clubs became community centers for German immigrants and their neighbors to compete in target shooting, celebrate holidays, dance to German music, and gather as a community. Staff will highlight the history of the Bluff Schuetzenverein which once made its home on the grounds of present-day Monument Hill and inspired the sites’ annual Bluff SchuetzenFest in May. Festival Hill
The next volunteer day is scheduled for Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The group meets bi-monthly to help keep the grounds at Round Top Festival Institute a beautiful place. Gloves, rakes, and other tools are available for use.

Round Top Rifle Hall
Enjoy burgers the first, second, and third Mondays of each month. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the RTRH.
St. Martin’s Catholic Church
St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly Mass the first Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. More information can be found at stjohnfayetteville. com/st-martin.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church
Bethlehem Lutheran Church meets for worship Sundays at 9:30 a.m. You can also watch the service on their YouTube channel found at https://tinyurl.com/yc77f2vj beginning at 9:30 a.m. April 12 is a church workday beginning at 9 a.m. Please bring blowers, rakes, and garden tools. Maundy Thursday service will be April 17 at 7 p.m., and Good Friday Service will also be at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 19 at 9 a.m. the outdoor cross will be decorated with flowers. Please bring your own flowers if you would like to help. Easter Sunday Sunrise service will be at 7 a.m. under the Oaks. A light brunch and Easter Egg hunt will follow the Easter service.
The monthly Bible study met on April 2 with Pastor Nedbalek with a lesson on Mark 5: 21-43. The group examined the faithfulness of two very different people coming to Jesus for healing. The group was challenged with listening, not talking, which requires slowing down. Jesus told Jairus not to be afraid and to believe. He told the woman that her faith made her well; to go in peace. After listening actively, there was much discussion including how the steadfast love of the Lord never cease; his mercies never come to an end. Kathy Schatte was hostess, providing lots of goodies decorated in an Easter theme. The next bible study will be May 7 at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.
St. Paul Lutheran Church St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby services are at 8 a.m. Quilting will meet Wednesday, April 16 at 8:30 a.m. Maundy Thursday service will be April 17 at 5:30 p.m. Easter Sunday service will be at 8:30 a.m. on April 20. Following the Easter service there will be a brunch. Donations for the breakfast will go to “Water To Thrive: Give Water, Give Life.” Sunday, May 4 will be a joint service with BLC at Round Top for their annual chicken fry.
St. John’s Lutheran Church Sunday Worship is at 8:30 a.m. If members would like to help beautify the altar with Easter lilies or other spring flowers, they will need to be dropped off at the church by 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19.
RT Christian Fellowship Round Top Church meets at 8:45 a.m. for Bible Study, followed by a 10 a.m. service.
St. Cecilia’s Episcopal
St. Cecilia holds service in Haw Creek Chapel at 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Observe Holy Week at St. Cecilia’s with special guest preacher and presenter, Olivia Davies, Anglican Ordinand from Cambridge, England. Palm Sunday, April 13, will feature Davies at both services. Tuesday, April 15, the Women of St. Cecilia’s will gather for a one-day retreat at Farmstead Round Top with Davies presenting “The Women of Holy Week.” Registration is required. Maundy Thursday service will be April 17 at 5:45 p.m. Good Friday service is April 18 at 5:45 p.m. Celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus at the historic Round Top Dance Hall on Sunday, April 20 at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m.
