The Round Top Film Festival (RTFF), the annual celebration of independent film, storytelling, and community in Round Top, announces an exciting new chapter as the nonprofit launches its inaugural youth summer camp program.

Now entering its third year, the festival continues to expand its mission beyond the screen by investing in arts education and creative access for young storytellers across rural Texas.

“Entering our third year feels incredibly meaningful for all of us at Round Top Film Festival,” said co-founder Shanna Schanen. “What excites me most is launching our inaugural youth summer camp and expanding our commitment to bringing arts education and creative opportunity to rural youth across Texas. Supporting young storytellers and giving them access to mentorship, resources, and a creative community is truly at the heart of why we started this festival.”

Making the Short: Script to Screen, the immersive filmmaking camp, will be led by Nell Teare, an award-winning Texas-born director, writer, producer, and actress, and a graduate of Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

In addition to the summer programming, the festival’s Third Annual Gala will take place on Sept. 18 serving as a premier fundraising and celebration event in advance of the November festival. returning Nov. 12-15, to Round Top, Festival passes are now available for purchase and early bird pricing ends May 22.
