Hermann Sons Life had their regular business meeting Thursday evening April 24 at the American Legion Hall near Round Top. Lila Garlin, Vice President, called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. As of date there are no scholarship applications. We are in desperate need of rain, so everyone mentioned their gauge amounts from yesterday’s showers; seems an inch and a fourth was unanimous for our area. Margie Stardig, located near Oldenburg, reported two inches of precipitation; however, towards La Grange, the rainfall amount continued to increase.

Happy birthday was sung for Myrt Meinkowsky for birthday on April 29 and to Bob Porter who celebrated birthday April 12. Attendance prizes were won by Lila Garlin, Ray Ullrich, Carmen Ebner, Betty Porter, and Jo Ann Ullrich. Fellowship, refreshments and a delicious lunch followed the meeting.
