Round Top Family Library Hosting Sewing Class

The Round Top Family Library is open Monday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday– Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A sewing class will be held Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activity Annex. This class is for ages 20 and up and will cover sewing a pillowcase. Please bring your own sewing machine with white thread and a full bobbin of matching thread. The library will provide a variety of pillowcase kits. Registration is limited to 10 people. Yoga is Mondays at 5 p.m., Art After School is Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., Chess Club is Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. and Kids Garden is Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Weekly Preschool story time for 3 and 4-year-old children takes places Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Preschoolers will hear an age-appropriate book and participate in activities. The parent or guardian must be present.
Family game night is held every second Saturday of the month from 2 to 5 p.m. Come to the Historic Rummel Haus for board games and lots of fun. Parent or guardian must be present. A light snack and water will be served.
A Home School Play Date is planed for Thursday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library playground. Join us for a play date, meet other home schooling families, check out the library, bring a snack and enjoy the day under the live oaks.

Local Events
It’s Open Mic Night on Friday, April 14 at Busted Oak Cellars. From 6 to 9 p.m. come out and entertain the crowd. A PA system and microphone will be provided.
Saturday, April 15, Tyler Tillman will perform from 3 to 6 p.m. Bingo Night is Thursday, April 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 21 is Craft Night hosted by Christine Terrell. You will learn to transform decorative tin into art and jewelry. Cost is $88. RSVP to Sherrie at (281) 7952588.

The One Square Mile Music Fest in Round Top will be April 20-23. Round Top Rifle Hall
The next Monday Night Hamburger Social is scheduled for April 17. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6 to 8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Town of Round Top
The town of Round Top is currently looking for volunteers to work the polling place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on April 24 thru April 28, and May 1 and 2.
Round Top-Carmine ISD
Transfer and enrollment packets for the 2023-2024 school year are now available on the school’s website.
Students are out for a holiday Friday, April 28.
Sports physicals per the Texas A&M Mobile Health Clinic will be Thursday, May 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Round Top High School.
Historical Society
The RTAHS museum has free admission every second Saturday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. Take the opportunity to view three historical homes and a historical church. Private tours are welcome.

Round Top Festival Hill’s August to April music series concludes with the Adkins/ Newman Duo on Saturday, April 22 at 3 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall. Friday, April 28 – Sunday, April 30 will be Poetry at Round Top. This event features three days of poetry panels, workshops, and featured readings by some of the nation’s most highly acclaimed poets. Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m.
Bible Study at BLC met Thursday, April 6 with Pastor John David Nedbalek leading the discussion. The lesson included the last four of the Ten Commandments. The discussion covered how the word “covet” deals with sins of the heart and mind. To manifest greater joy and peace of mind, changes may need to be made – forgiving and helping others, letting the past brighten the future, and discovering our creative selves. Patty Royal served as hostess. The next study will be May 4. The fundraiser and outdoor service will be May 7. Ladies are asked to bring a dessert item. The youth will fix pulled-pork sandwiches with coleslaw and chips for lunch.
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee and Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Game Day is held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. Bring a snack, board game, dominoes, etc. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. Noisy Offering is the third Sunday of each month.
The Women’s Quarterly Meeting will be Sunday, April 16. Saturday, April 22, a Western Cluster Spring Gathering will be held at 8:30 a.m.
St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square.
