Saturday, Nov. 16, Craig Moreau will host an Active Shooter Class from 12:302:30 p.m. Light snacks served and this free class is open to the public.
RTFL’s FYI presents Rain Water Harvesting with Louie Sellers. Learn more about rain water harvesting with both simple and complex systems. Learn to start small and grow. This talk is free and open to the public on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m..
The monthly Senior Citizen Gaming Party will take place Sunday, Nov. 24 from 2-4 p.m. Come enjoy fellowship and light refreshments. Bring your family and friends.
The library is offering TaeKwon-Do training with Master instructor David Mc-Call, Black Belt, for grades second and up, Thursdays from 5:15-6:15 p.m. This is a year-round class and registration is required.

The Round Top Lions Club Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is in less than two weeks. Each year, the Lion’s Club donates funds to various non-profit organizations; all proceeds benefit the youth in the Round Top community. Visit athleteguild.com to register.
Round Top-Carmine ISD Students are out for Thanksgiving break Nov. 25-29. A band concert will be Monday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. Winter break begins Dec. 19.

The Compound is hosting an art festival this weekend. View works created by artists from across the nation using various mediums. This festival will benefit ARTS for Rural Texas.
The West Texas Country Music jamboree is Saturday, Nov. 16 from 7-10 p.m. at the Round Top Dance Hall. Tickets are available at Eventbrite. com.
Dec. 4-8 is the Round Top En Plein Air Invitational and Art Experience. Experience legendary Round Top in painted glory as nine artists compete in four days of competition, demonstrations and studio tours. Winedale Zoom Talk
On Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 12 p.m. via zoom, Tammy Scarbrough, Lead Educator/Interpreter at the Goodnight Ranch Historic Site will discuss the Battle of Adobe Walls.
She will explain that after years of hostile actions from Native Americans and broken treaties by the U.S. government, things came to a head in the Summer of 1874 culminating he Second Battle of Adobe Walls. The Comanche force of 700 warriors, led by Quanah Parker, faced off against a group of 28 buffalo hunters and was the catalyst for the Red River War.

Round Top Rifle Hall
Don’t forget about Round Top Rifle Hall Monday night social on the first, second and third Mondays of each month at 5:30 p.m.
All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the Round Top Rifle Association.
Mayer Cemetery Association The Mayer Cemetery Association will have their annual meeting on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Round Top Real Estate Office, located at 101 N. Main Street on the square.
Reports will be given on cemetery needs including the mowing and upkeep funds, Mayer Cemetery Association Bylaws revisions, the annual Officer’s election, as well as other items. All are welcome to attend.

Festival Hill
This weekend at Festival Hill is a Theatre Forum that will cover how the visual aspect of theatre impacts the audience. This group will consist of scholars, artists and students. A full itinerary of the weekend, as well as ticket information is available at festivalhill.

The next community Gardens and Grounds Volunteer Day at Festival Hill will be Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m.12 p.m. Please register at festivalhill. org.
Also on Nov. 23 as part of the August to April Series, Tango with Jesús Castro-Balbi and Daniel Binelli. This new collection of concert tango music for cello and bandoneon will showcase the virtuosity and cultural significance of tango. Church News
Mass at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton will be held Tuesday, December 10 at 8 a.m. More information can be found at stjohnfayetteville. com/st-martin.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church services are at 9:30 a.m. Noisy Offering and the Women’s Thankoffering service will be Nov. 17. This year’s Christmas Program will be December 8. Please contact Stacy Eilers if your child would like a role.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church had their monthly bible study on Thursday morning Nov. 7 at 9:30 a.m. with brunch, hosted by Sherry Pennington. Sherry also provided a beautiful fall display and mite boxes for the group’s coins.
Pastor John David Nedbalek opened the lesson with prayer ending with a “A Call to Grace” and the song “Anthem” by Leonard Cohen. The lesson was from Ephesians Chapter 3 and 4 “Receiving Grace.” Paul, as a prisoner, was not of shame but of honor and great love, revealing grace as a beautiful mystery. We all have our own gifts and unique personalities. We all can make the church a better more abundant place to be together.
This continued as we all had lunch together.
The Dec. 5 meeting will end with a pot luck luncheon. All are invited to join in on bible study and fellowship in the educational building.
The WELCA Thankoffering service is Nov. 17, including the blessing of the quilts and a short meeting following the service.
The church picnic on Sunday Oct. 27 was delightful, the weather great, all the music was wonderful and the food was delicious. The children’s games were challenging and so fun to watch.
Thanks to all who participated or helped in any way; you are all so appreciated. Advent services will be on three December Wednesdays at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine with a meal at 6 p.m. and service at 7 p.m. Remember that believing in grace means believing you are special and worthy of God’s help.
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby services are at 8 a.m. Quilting meets Nov. 20 at 8:30 a.m., and Choir Practice will be at 7 p.m.
Round Top Church meets at 8:45 a.m. for Bible Study, and the service is held at 10 a.m. St. Cecilia holds service in Haw Creek Chapel at 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
