Round Top-Carmine ISD Welcome Walk is Aug. 6
Back to school Welcome Walk will be held on Aug. 6.
Incoming seventh graders and new students meet from 5 -6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Athletic meeting and coach introduction will be in the gym from 6-6:30 p.m. At least one parent needs to attend for new athletes only.
Returning eighth through twelfth graders meet from 5:30-6 p.m. to pick up their schedules and meet their teachers. Parent Portal for online returning student registration for the 2025-2026 school year must be completed prior to picking up the student’s school schedule.

Round Top-Carmine ISD is taking proposal bids for the house at 406 Centennial St., Carmine, TX 78932, to be moved. The proposal must also include site clean-up after the house is removed, and plans to obtain any permits that will be required for the project. Site viewing must be scheduled with the superintendent by calling (979) 9666116. Proposal bids must be turned in to the elementary office at 608 N. Washington St., Round Top, Tx 78954 by Aug. 8, 2025.
Administrative offices are open through Aug. 3 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Chamber Casino Night
Call to see if tables or tickets are still available for the 2025 Casino Night on Aug. 9. It is sponsored by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce with the theme “Casino Night 007.” It will be at the Carmine Hall beginning at 6 p.m.
A table sponsorship is $500 and includes eight meals, beverages, wine, promotion at event, and playing chips. Individual tickets are $65. For tables and tickets, call or text Courtney at (512) 983-1115 or Marlene at (979) 451-1507.
A chicken-fried steak meal by Gary Goebel will be served. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the Carmine Hall renovation.
Condolences
Sympathy is extended to the family of Floyd Braun, who passed away on July 15. His funeral service was held on July 21 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange with burial at the Hills Cemetery. He was a very active member at Martin Luther Lutheran Church and in the community. Floyd served in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers as a Corporal and worked for TXI as a design engineer.
Monthly Drawing
The Carmine Hall is selling tickets for monthly drawings from September 2025 to August 2026. On the third Tuesday of each month, three tickets will be drawn – two for guns and one for a $500 gift card. The winning tickets will be placed back in for future drawings.
Winners must be 18 or older to win a long gun and 21 or older to win a pistol. All winners must be in compliance with federal firearms regulations.

Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes is Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m. Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost is at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bonnie Parker serving as the guest pastor.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
