Ron and Pam Knotts recently hosted a family reunion along with Pam’s brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Christy Langenberg, at the Shiloh Community Center near Hallettsville. This reunion was a great gathering of the Langenburg family and descendants of the Mache and Mathias Lorfing families. Most of the area was settled around 1900 by these families and others that still have close ties to the community. It was a great day with a catered barbecue lunch and lots of storytelling.

Rain

Muldoon finally saw some of the much promised rain. Not everyone got as much rain as others. Some in the area got an inch and a half while others got three inches. Along with the rain were some wild and crazy winds. A small tornado or possible strong straight line winds tore up a number of properties, leaving the owners to clean up debris.

Grills were blown off porches, trees up rooted and blown over, and fences tore up. Where the winds hit, it was a mess. Not everyone had damages, but those who did were busy cleaning up afterwards. Out and About

John and Debra Schwartzenburg made a quick trip to Marksville, Louisiana to make a visit to John’s uncle Ralph Schwartzenburg. They had a great time catching up and even attended mass with Uncle Ralph.
