Rheagan Karisch Confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church

Rheagan Karisch was confirmed on Sunday, Oct. 1 at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville by Pastor Jill Vivroux. Phyllis Fritsch served as the confirmation teacher for the past two years. Rheagan is the daughter of Brandon and Carissa Karisch; she is the granddaughter of Larry and Carolyn Bartosh of Ellinger and Curtis and Laurie Karisch of La Grange.

Rheagan’s baptismal sponsors include: Matt Karisch, Steven Karisch, Jennifer Pizzitola, Hailey Hess, Nathan Hess, Madisyn Horndt Neumann, and Michelle Smith. Rheagan’s chosen confirmation verse is Psalm 18:1-3 - “I loveYou, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my safe place, and the One which takes me out of trouble. My God is my rock, in Whom I am safe. He is my safe-covering, my saving strength, and my strong tower. I call to the Lord, Who has the right to be praised. And I am saved from those who hate me.”

Following the church service, Rheagan was honored with a celebratation and lunch at her home with many friends and family present.

Fayette County 4-H

The 4-H clubs are selling poinsettias. Contact any member of the 4-H to order a red, white or pink poinsettias (6 inch) which are $12 each. The delivery is tentatively set for Nov. 30. This is a county fundraiser as well as for the child’s club.

Ellinger C of C

Bingo will be held at the chamber hall on Saturday, Oct. 28. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. More details to follow.

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will meet in the chamber dining hall on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. Members and non-members are invited to attend.

Shared Lutheran Ministry

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. St. John in Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Joint worship will be held in Fayetteville at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 9:30 a.m. A light breakfast will be held at 9 a.m.

St. John’s Fundraiser Dinner

The annual roast beef and sausage fundraiser will take place on Sunday, Oct. 8. It will be catered by Peter’s BBQ and will start at 11 a.m. at the church, corner of Fayette and Grover Street. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased from Gladys Koehl (979) 9667951, Sharon Fritsch (979) 966-3515, any church member or at Koehl’s in Ellinger. Advance tickets are highly encouraged, only a limited number of extra dinner tickets will be available that day.

During this drive through fundraiser, raffle tickets will be sold for a 70-inch smart TV. Tickets are $10 each of 3 for $20. Tickets will only be sold during the event, not in advance.

LGISD

There will not be any classes for students on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 9-10.

Brethren Church

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.
