Rev. Dr. Brian J. Hesse to Speak at BBQ & Auction Fundraiser

Rev. Dr. Brian J. Hesse, Senior Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead (Waco), will be the featured speaker at the annual BBQ Worship Service on Sunday, July 28 at 11 a.m. at Camp Lone Star. Rev. Ryan Neuhaus, the new Chief Executive Officer of Camp Lone Star, will also be installed during the service. All persons from the area are invited to attend. Festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with pre-service music performed by the Summer Staff, under the canopy of trees near the lake (A/C live-streamed service will be available in the Koop Center). Following the service, a traditional barbecue lunch with noodles and all the fixings will be served. For those who are on the go, drive-thru BBQ plates can also be purchased for $15 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. outside Rejoice Hall. Afterwards, from 1-3 p.m., both live and silent auctions will take place indoors at the Koop Center. The BBQ & Auction Fundraiser is one of the main events supporting Camp Lone Star each year. In 2023, more than $107,000 was raised, thanks to dedicated friends and the local community. This year, the goal is to raise $110,000, which will allow Camp Lone Star to continue fulfilling a mission of transforming lives through adventurous Christ-centered experiences.
