Retirement Celebration Planned for FLHS Teacher Dan Shaefer

There will be a retirement party for Mr. Dan Shaefer, who is retiring after being at FLHS for eight years, serving as a music and history teacher. Everyone is invited on May 17 from 2-4 p.m. to help him celebrate his retirement and remind him how many lives he has touched while teaching at Faith.

Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9-FLHS will be competing in the State Track Meet, May 14-15-Senior Finals.

Summer Camp Registration is open at FLHS: May 26-28-Basketball, June 1-2 Archery (novice or experienced,) June 8-10 Volleyball, June 15-17 STEM, June 22-24 Art. To register call (979) 242-2889.

Golf “Fore” Education 

Friday May 29 FLHS will host the Golf “Fore” Education Tournament. There will be an 8 a.m./1 p.m. shotgun start. This annual tournament benefiting Faith is perfect for every level of player. 4-man teams are $100/person, including golf cart and lunch. Many prizes will be awarded. They are also seeking gold, silver, and platinum sponsors by May 14. Contact the school for sponsorship and player registration.

Camp Lone Star Registration 

Camp Lone Star in La-Grange Summer Camp registration, for campers age 5-18 is open. The Camp will also have a work weekend May 15-17, as they prepare to welcome over 2000 campers. Kids and adults are welcome to the work weekend, to help with some projects and enjoy a few fun camp activities. Register at

Race Championship Series 

Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda will have the TMBRA Warda Race Championship Series on May 17. For more information go to

Tejas Camp & Retreat Center 

Tejas Camp and Retreat Center invited you to spend Memorial Day Weekend with them. From May 22-25 they will offer fun activities for all ages, meals, rest, play and recharge. Spaces are limited, reserve by visiting

Sewing Circle 

The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. This is around the back side of the church. No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 2423333 if you have any questions.

Game Day at Holy Cross 

The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, May 21 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.

Baptism 

Congratulation to Ishaan Wayne Singh, who was baptized at Holy Cross on May 2. He is the son of Sanjay and Tasha Singh.
