The Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association met on Monday, June 12, at the La Grange First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Fellowship Time was hosted by the FCRTA Chapter members, and the raffle item (to benefit the Childrens’ Book Project) was given by Lisa Slinkard.

The business portion of the meeting included approval of an amendment to the standing rules (passed unanimously), a memorial for former member Nancy Pietsch, and installation of 2023-2024 Officers, with recognition of Committee Chairs. This was done by Gene Stokes, District 13 TRTA President. Officers: President: Lisa Slinkard; Co-First Vice Presidents: Kathy Migl, Debbie Morrill; 2nd Vice President: Melanie Mica; Secretary: Karen Fitch; Treasurer: Chris Morrison; Immed. Past President: Melanie Mica. Committee Chairs: Public Relations and Legislation: Karen Fitch; Volunteer Services and Parliamentarian: Joan Miertschin; Programs: Kathy Migl and Debbie Morrill; Healthy Living: Kathy Koch; Retirement Education: Lisa Slinkard; Information and Protective Services: Kim Joost; Historian: Jeanne Wetjen; Hospitality: Sabina Rotter; TRTA Foundation: Melanie Mica; Technology: Open.

President Lisa Slinkard presented the Volunteer of the Year Award to Donna Burton, who accumulated 4,356 volunteer hours in 2022. The Retention Member drawing was won by Lisa Davis, and the raffle item was won by Chris Morrison.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 11 it will be a “Welcome Back!” social, with ice cream and games of Bingo, hosted by the Executive Board.
