Registration Open for 7th Annual Round Top Turkey Trot
Sign-up for the 7th annual Round Top Turkey Trot is open. Come out on Thanksgiving morning and support the Round Top Lion’s Club in either the 10k, 5k, or kid’s 1-mile fun run to burn those calories before eating Thanksgiving dinner. Saturday, Oct. 28, April Hall is at Busted Oak Cellars, Shiny Ribs is at The Round Top Dance Hall, Just Us and the Hayden Woolen Band at The Dugout, and much more.
Highway Cleanup Day
Tuesday, Oct. 31 is a very important day following the antique show – Highway Cleanup Day. Meet at the Round Top Square at 8 a.m. for roadway section assignments. Please wear boots and bring gloves. Since this takes place on Halloween, there will also be a prize for the best dressed. Afterwards, participants will be treated to a nice cup of coffee at the Round Top Coffee Show. Please register in advance so assignments can be planned. The sign-up form can be found at exploreroundtop. com. Click on the event in the calendar and a black register button will be at the top.
Another big event that occurs after the show is the annual Round Top Wine Fest. The even is scheduled for Nov. 3-5. Registration available at exploreroundtop.com. Round Top Rifle Hall
This weekend enjoy the annual Oktobierfest on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Gates open at 11 a.m., with the ceremonial keg tapping at noon. Enjoy bratwursts, Kassler-style pork chops, German potatoes, sauerkraut and sides. Keg and bottled bier imported from Germany will be available. The Round top Brass Band, Auf Geht’s and Enzian Buam will provide music until 6 p.m. Entry is free, all are Willkommen.
Monday Night Hamburger Social takes place the first, second and third Mondays each month starting at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Round Top – Carmine ISD
It’s time for the Fall Festival! Saturday, Oct. 28 is the Round Top-Carmine Fall Festival sponsored by the RTC Parent’s Club beginning at 4 p.m. There will be carnival games, a haunted house, inflatables, trunk or treating, raffle silent auction, costume parade and a pie eating contest. Pollo Asado and Sausage plates are $15, or a hotdog plate is $5. Desserts available for a free-will donation. The carnival benefits the students at RTC. Round Top Family Library
The Round Top Family Library offers several different free classes for a variety of ages throughout the week. For a full list and times for the classes, visit ilovetoread.org.
A chess tournament will be held Saturday, Nov. 4 for ages 5 and up. Registration begins at 9 a.m. This is a free tournament, but space is limited. Advanced registration is recommended.
Operation Christmas Child boxes are available at the Round Top Family Library. Come by the library Monday – Saturday during library hours to pick up a shoe box. Once you have filled the box, bring it back to the library by Nov. 16.

The 26th Annual Theatre Forum will be held Friday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 19. Tickets available at festivalhill.org. Speaking of tickets, now is your chance to purchase tickets to see “The Nutcracker” Saturday, Dec. 9. Don’t wait – these will sell out quickly.
Town Council
The Round Top Town Council meetings are held the second Monday of the month at the Town Hall located at 100 Main Street unless otherwise posted. Citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend. Agendas are posted on the website at www.townofroundtop. org at least 72 hours prior to the meeting time.
Winedale
The next Winedale online talk: “The Battle of the Alamo: A Flashpoint of the Texas Revolution.” The Alamo’s Senior Curator, Historian and Lecturer Ernesto Rodriguez traces the roots of the Texas Revolution, from the political seat of power in Mexico City to the frontier battlefields across modern-day South Texas.
