Rauder Wedding Held in Muldoon
Elizabeth and Chace Rauder were married in a beautiful ceremony on Saturday Nov. 12 at the Muldoon Mercantile. They were surrounded by about one hundred guests who traveled in from all over to be in attendance.
The service nuptials were officiated by the groom’s uncle Pastor Kenny Hovland of Dallas. There was music provided by a DJ, lots of dancing, barbecue and “German Sodawater.” Loads of fun was had by everyone who came to celebrate Chace and Elizabeth’s special day.
The couple left from the wedding for their honeymoon in San Antonio and Garner State Park. Chace is the son of Ludwig Rauder and step mom, Sandy Rauder of Houston. The Rauders have had a ranch in Muldoon for many years and this was one of the many reasons the couple chose to wed here.
Christmas Crafts Returns
On Saturday, Dec. 10 crafts will once again be happening in Muldoon at the Muldoon Fellowship Hall (formerly the Muldoon Methodist Church building.) This will be an opportunity for parents and/or grandparents to gather up the little ones and come out and have some creative fun. Adults will have the choice of a craft to do with their child/children. The cost will be $10 per craft project. All the crafting will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In addition to the crafting there is word that Santa will be taking time out of his busy schedule to come out and visit the Muldoon Fellowship Hall for a quick visit from 4-5 p.m. During this stop Santa would be more than happy to hear the children’s Christmas wishes and take a picture with them.
Following the crafting fun, the Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual holiday meal starting at 6 p.m. at the fire station. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish and/or dessert to share.
Weather
Muldoon has been seeing some much needed rain recently. One day alone we received seven tenths of an inch. Other days were not as moist and only a few tenths of an inch fell. Along with the moisture the temperature has been falling. It has been a few days since the sun has come out and warmed things up. Temps have stayed in the 40s most days. The combination of cloud cover, moisture and lower temperatures have made it feel much more like winter than fall.
Hogs
The hogs have made a comeback in the area. They have been tearing up fields all over the area. They have taken advantage of the wet ground and have been rooting up everywhere. They also have been crossing the roads, making driving dangerous.
