Post No. 338 Monthly Meeting Scheduled for Aug. 4
The next meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 4, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237; Round Top. This is a change in the start time of 7:30 p.m. previously used for many years.
During this upcoming meeting the post will review updated financial information, review progress with the newly formed American Legion 19th District of Texas, and continue discussions related to celebrating the 100th anniversary of the post in conjunction with Veteran’s Day.
Thanks to the recently passed LEGION Act (Let Everyone Get Involved In Opportunities for National Service Act), Congress expanded the current membership eligibility period to cover Dec. 7, 1941, to the present, and includes the current war campaigns. Previously, there were seven declared war periods. Now there are two, the current war period dating back to World War II and another war era covering World War I. No other restrictions to American Legion membership changed. All veterans in the Round Top-Carmine, Burton, LaGrange and Giddings area are encouraged to join Post No. 338 and share in fellowship with others who have served our nation.
American Legion Quade-Werchan Post 338 meets the first Thursday of each month at their hall located at 1503 N. State Hwy. 237 in Round Top. Meetings begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
