The date for the next Bingo at the Carmine Hall has been moved to Friday, May 30, due to the RT-C graduation on May 23. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games begin at 6 p.m. Twelve regular games and two cover games are played. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine high school baseball team won the Regional Semifinal playoffs in a best of three series on May 16 at Willis High School with the opponent being Spurger.

RT-C defeated Medina in three games in the area round of playoffs on May 10 in Kyle. Congratulations!

The last day of classes has been changed to May 21 with early release at 12:30 p.m.

High School graduation and eighth grade promotion are on May 23 at Round Top Festival Institute at 7 p.m.

Cemetery Association 

Aspecial meeting has been called by the Carmine Cemetery Association to approve the revisions to the bylaws. It is scheduled for Sunday, May 25 at 11:15 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building of Martin Luther Lutheran Church.

Memorial Day Service 

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 26, at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. It is sponsored by the Carmine EDC and the Quade-Werchan Post 338 American Legion.

Trash Pick-up 

There is a change to the pick-up of trash during Memorial Day week only. It will be picked up on Wednesday, May 28, instead of Tuesday.

Carmine 42 Club 

The Carmine 42 Domino Club met on May 7 at JW’s Steakhouse. After a wonderful lunch, eight delightful games of 42 were played among partners determined by drawing for positions at tables.

High-scoring partners were Edith Flinn and Avalda Pohl with a score of 1863 and they played one hand of 84. Jeanette Schoenst and Linda Mattocks had a score of 1791 and they played one hand of 84, which resulted in the second-highest score. Partners Carol Naegeli and Betty Porter played one hand of 84. Myrt Meinkowsky and Marlene Waak played eight interesting games of 42.

Everyone enjoyed the challenging games and the pleasant conversations. The group will be ready for more games on June 4.

Flag Disposal 

If anyone has worn or unserviceable United States or Texas flags to dispose of, the Carmine Chamber of Commerce has bins available for drop off at The Village Market, Carmine Post Office, and Museum/Depot on Sylvan St.

Every October, the chamber hosts Carmine Night Out, where the Quade-Werchan Post 338 American Legion members conduct a flag retirement ceremony.

Carmine VFD 

The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department meets May 22 for their regular meeting at 6 p.m.

Mark your calendars for July 20 when the Firemen’s Feast and Fundraiser will be held. A fried chicken meal will be served as drive-through only.

Senior Citizen Gaming The Round Top Family Library’s Senior Citizen gaming party is scheduled for Sunday, May 25 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the library located at 206 W Mill St. in Round Top. It is free and open to the public. For more information, go to ilovetoread. org or call 979-249-2700. MLLC News)

Christian Pratt and Carly Weiss were confirmed on May 11 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church by the Rev. Ken Weiss.

Senior Citizens meal pick-up and domino party is Wednesday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion observing the Sixth Sunday of Easter is Sunday at 10 a.m.

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot and Museum is open on the second Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. It is located at 248 E Sylvan, Carmine, TX 78932, which is on the south side of Hwy. 290.
