Pereiro Wins District in Patriot Pen’s Competition and Michalke Wins Voice of Democracy Contest

At the district judging competition, Zowen Pereiro won 1st Place in the Patriot’s Pen contest, which qualified him for the Department (State) competition. Fayette Memorial Post 5254 of La Grange, Texas recently completed judging for scholarships from the 2024-2025 Voice Of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen programs. The winners were Hope Michalke (1st Place) in the Voice Of Democracy program competition, and Zowen Pereiro (1st Place) in the Patriot’s Pen program competition. Winners from the VFW Post are sent to District for judging. At the District judging competition, Zowen won 1st Place there, which qualified him for the Department (State) competition.
Hope Michalke is a student at La Grange High School, and Zowen Pereiro is a student with Greater Vision Team School.
