Pam Knotts Celebrates Birthday
Pam and Ron Knotts were in Austin recently for a long weekend to celebrate Pam’s birthday. They stayed in a downtown hotel and had a room on the 16th floor with a great view of 6th Street and the Austin skyline. They started the weekend off on Friday night with the Eagles in concert at the Moody Center. The opening act was Steely Dan and an amazing brass group that blew the roof off for more than an hour, playing all their biggest hits.
Then the Eagles group came on, they still have three of the founding members. Featured artist in the group was Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, the son of Glenn Frey. The two hour show was followed by three amazing encores to top off a terrific concert.
Saturday was casual day around town with dinner at P.F. Chang’s. On Sunday they drove to Marble Falls to eat pie at the Bluebonnet Café. On Sunday evening Pam’s brother and his wife, Ray and Christy Langenberg, took Pam and Ron out to El Rancho for Pam’s birthday, and they all went back to the Langenberg’s for Blue Bell Ice Cream and some time to catch up. That rounded out lots of fun for the weekend.
Finally, on the way home Monday morning, they caught up with Ron’s old college friend, Fred Wettling for brunch at Phoebe’s Café. It was a great four days full of good music, good eats, fun and family. This leaves everyone wondering what they will do to top that next year for Pam’s birthday.
Road Work
Many of the roads in the area have sustained some damage from all the high water recently. Both the farm to markets and the country roads were over flowed by the flood waters in recent weeks and the state and the county have been hard at work catching up with repairs.
Texas Department of Transportation was working this past week on some of the flood damage on FM 2237 east. This road work did cause some traffic delays between FM 154 and FM 609. They laid hot mix over the edge and beefed up the upstream side of the Pin Oak Creek overflow area. This was done in hopes of preventing water from getting under the edge of the pavement in the future.
Out and About
Jennifer Rightmer hosted five of her old college friends this past weekend. The girls were all in Chi Omega sorority at Sam Houston State University. The friends came from all over. One of the girls even drove in all the way from Arkansas to get the chance to catch up and share so many great memories. The ladies enjoyed some time in the country, some wonderful food and the chance to relive some favorite memories.
Cundieff Passes Away
Mary Ann (Null) Cundieff passed away recently. Mary Ann was a Muldoon native, having been born and raised in the area, before marring Ron Cundieff and moving away for a while. She and Ron moved back to Muldoon, and she worked for the La Grange ISD. It was after Ron passed that Mary Ann went to live closer to her children. There were no details at the time of this writing on the services for Mary Ann.
