Pam Knotts Caps Birthday Month with Concert Trip
To finish out her month of birthday celebrations, Pam Knotts and husband Ron traveled to Bossier City, La. to attend a concert at Brookshire Arena. The venue is a popular mid-size arena that hosts a variety of events.
The opening act for this show was Lauren Alaina, a popular country artist that Ron and Pam have followed since she appeared on American Idol when she was sixteen.
Before the show Ron and Pam were treated to the meet and greet for Lauren Alaina, got to chat with her and take a picture with her. The next act was Chris Lane who has had several number one hits.
The crowd was fun to watch since they seemed to know all the songs and liked to sing along. Finally, the headline act was Rascal Flats, back from temporary retirement. During the show they made numerous references to their faith and their dependence on the Lord.
It was a totally amazing show and the perfect end to Pam’s birthday month.
Celebrates Birthday
February is a busy birthday month in Muldoon. A celebratory lunch was held in honor of Harold Boehnke’s 81st birthday at Sealand in La Grange. Joining him for the special occasion were his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tony Miori of La Grange; his son, Guy Boehnke of Friendswood; and his brother, Devon Boehnke, along with his nephew, Darrell Kulak, both of Muldoon. The family enjoyed visiting together and sharing a birthday cheesecake in his honor.
Quilt Show Success
Muldoon was well represented at the Colorado Valley Quilt Show the last weekend of February. Linda Polk, posthumously, won Out Standing Traditional Quilt, Guild Choice, and second in Large Two Person Professional Quilt with her Civil War Quilt and for her Deep in the Heart of Texas entry in the Professional Home Décor. Linda also got a third with her daughter in law, Nicol Polk for their quilt Rose Garden in the Past Show Chair Theme Professional division.
Nancie Blair also did well with a first place in the Group Quilt division with her entry Flowers for Jerry. Nancie also entered her bag, Texas Wildflower Bag in the Wearable Arts Artisan division and won third place.
Sandy Courier was very productive this year at the quilt show with lots of ribbons. Sandy won second for her “Happiness is…” quilt in the Past Show Chair Theme Professional division. She took two more second place ribbons in the Mixed Techniques Division with Circles and Flowers and Medium Quilt Two-person division with From Kay and topped out her winnings with a thirdplace ribbon for Scrappy Squares in the Medium Quilt Two Person Division.
Joan Ivy rounded out the Muldoon crew with a secondplace ribbon for a Bluebonnet Bag in the Wearable Arts Professional Division.
Out and About
Kathy and Frank Chlumsky’s son, Reece, and his wife, Shannon, made a trip (from Idaho) down our way for a couple of days. They got to catch up with them and spend some time with the grandkids, Sharon, Katherine, Frank, Donna and Michele. The kids did some exploring and drove around in the side by side with Grandpa Frank. They enjoyed playing with the new puppy and checking out the donkeys. They all enjoy their time together and of course eating some good food.
