Officers Respond to Suicidal Man At Plum Park

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Thursday, May 12 at approximately 5:12 p.m. Fayette County Deputies received information in regards to a suicidal male subject at the Plum Park who was threatening suicide.

Deputies arrived on scene and located the male subject who was supposedly armed with a handgun. Once encountered by Deputies, the male subject ignored commands by Law Enforcement and began running towards his vehicle. Deputies were able to stop the male before he could make it to his vehicle and detained him for his safety. A loaded 9mm Glock handgun was located inside of the vehicle.

The male subject was transported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office where he was seen by a mental health professional and was evaluated. The male subject was then transported to a mental health rehabilitation facility where he can receive proper treatment for his illnesses.
