Enjoy a special concert, “Octoberfest - Piano Under the Stars” Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Clayton House Porch featuring James Dick. Gates open at 5:45 p.m., concert begins at 6:30 p.m. The evening will consist of porch seating, fancy hor’ d’leuvres and wine.
Nutcracker Ballet Tickets for Festival Hill’s annual Nutcracker Ballet are for sale on the website. This year’s performance will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 from 4-6 p.m. This year’s production celebrates the 14th annual performance danced by Ovation Ballet Company. OktoBierFest The 10th Annual OktoBier-Fest at the Round Top Rifle Hall will be Saturday, Oct. 22 beginning at noon. Hosted by the Round Top Schützen Verein, this event kicks-off with official Keg Tapping taking place at noon. Join for an afternoon full of quality German biers, delicious Kassler, Wurst & Kraut, and a free concert under the pavilion.
Hamburger Social The Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social is the first through third Monday of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA. Chamber Meeting The next Chamber of Commerce meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 6 from 4-6 p.m. at Glamp Inn. Bring your business cards and get to know fellow business owners and members of the community.
Local Events The last Wednesday of each month, Blue Mule Winery hosts Red’s Terrific Trivia from 6:308:30 p.m. Come out to win prizes, trophies and make new friends. Teams welcome. Bingo Night at Busted Oak Cellars on Round Top Rd. is Friday, Sept. 30 from 6-8 p.m. $5 for a bingo card and you can play until prizes run out. Jerry Moreno is set to play Sunday, Oct. 2 from 6-8 p.m. Come out to The Vintage Hideaway Saturday, Oct. 8 for a Tailgate Party for the TAMU vs Alabama and UT vs OU football games. A cornhole tournament starts at noon. Bring your favorite potluck dish to share! The party starts at 11 a.m. The Stone Cellar is currently closed for renovations, but the new owners expect to reopen before the Fall Antique Show. A soft opening is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 19. Round Top Family Library Round Top Family Library is open Monday-Friday from 1:305:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Adult Yoga meets Mondays at 5 p.m. After School Kids Junior Master Gardner (JMG) meets Wednesdays, from 3:30-5:15 p.m. beginning in October. This class is for fourth through sixth grades. To sign up call the library.
Also starting back up in October is the Chess Club for ages 7 and up. This class meets on Wednesdays from 4-5:15 p.m. and is a free class with David McCall, scholastic chess coach. Registration for this class is required.
Saturday, Oct. 8, the RTFL presents a Charcuterie Board Class with Cristyn Pharis from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Registration required; class size is limited to 15 people. All class supplies will be provided for free thanks to a generous grant from The Wayne Duddlesten Foundation. Operation Christmas Child boxes are available at the RTFL and available for pick-up during open hours. Please bring back filled boxes by Nov. 21.
Round Top-Carmine ISD RTC students have a school holiday Monday, Oct. 10. Picture retakes for the elementary students will be Thursday, Oct. 13. A public hearing on Financial Accountability will be Monday, Oct. 17 from 6-6:30 p.m. at the RTC Elementary school. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss RTC’s “Superior Achievement” rating on the state’s financial accountability system.
RTC Fall Festival will be Saturday, Oct. 29 from 5-8 p.m. at the RTC Elementary school. Enjoy a kids costume parade, high school entertainment and a carnival. Fajita plates are $15 and hot dogs are $3. There will also be a raffle and silent auction, with proceeds benefiting students and staff. This event is sponsored by the RTC parent’s club.

Tuesday, Oct. 4 come by for “An Evening of Songs and Stories” beginning at 5:45 p.m. Join author and priest William “Fr. Bill” Miller and musician and artist-inresidence at Saint Cecilia’s, Joey McGee for a special “Evening of Songs and Stories” on Saint Francis Day. Joey will be releasing his new album “The Acoustic Highway: Love, Loss and Other Stories” and Fr. Bill will be releasing his new book “The Last Howlelujah: Tails from the Trail” Joey and Bill will be sharing songs and stories from both the newly released album and book. A reception with a book and album signing will follow. Free and open to the public. The Round Top Animal Blessing will take place Sunday, Oct. 9 from 4-6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and your pet (in a carrier or on a leash please.)
