Noisy Offering Sunday at St. John

St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinger will hold a Noisy Offering this Sunday, Sept. 1. Bring your coins or paper bills for this special offering that is designated for the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund.

St. John Lutheran in Ellinger is selling raffle tickets now in conjunction with their annual roast beef dinner. The dinner will be on Oct. 13. Tickets are $20 or $50 for three, and only 1,000 tickets are sold. There are 40 great prizes on the ticket. The drawing will be immediately after the drive through dinner on Sunday, Oct. 13. See any church member, or purchase at Koehl’s in Ellinger. Details about the meal coming soon.

The Shared Lutheran Ministry has a new website that is up and running. Check it out at sharedlutheranministry.org to learn a little about us and each individual church.

Sunday School and Confirmation will kick off with a Rally Day on Sunday, Sept. 8 at St. John in Rutersville. Sunday School and confirmation will meet from 3-5 p.m. ham-and all are welcome for hamburgers afterwards.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Ellinger Sewer and Water The ESW will meet on Monday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. at the fire station.

Chamber of Commerce The chamber will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in the chamber dining hall at 7 pm. All chamber and community members are invited to attend.

LGISD 

La Grange ISD will observe the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 2.
