ARTS
ARTS Artist Liaison Amanda Danning recently presented a talented group of local artists in a Show and Tell event at the Schmidt Annex. Locations around Fayetteville were carefully selected and painted using the plein air technique. Plein air painting, or En Plein Air, means painting outside. “You have roughly two to three hours to complete the piece because the light changes so much that the painting you started is not the painting you end with. Plein air painters have to get their design, their contrast and their values very quickly right up front. It is particularly challenging.” Chamber of Commerce The Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce board welcomes everyone to join the Chamber or renew their membership to be a part of all the exciting activities planned for this year. Executive Director Tara Miller states “Small towns thrive by supporting each other, businesses and individuals. My goal is to ensure every chamber member finds value in our mission to cherish and advocate for this incredible historic town.”
Members of the board include Gina Hillock, Cindy Stephens, Cathy Bauer, Don Mendel, Amy Brown, and Judy Kurtz. A few of the board members are hard at work updating the Chamber website. New Residents
Carmela and Dan Atwood have lived here since 2018 and recently welcomed their daughter and son-in-law Alexus and Isrrael Suazo and their two grandchildren Sophie and Noah to Fayetteville. “One of the reasons we wanted our children here in Fayetteville is that we wanted our grandchildren to go to a really good school,” stated Carmela. “Our son-in-law Isrrael is a certifed HVAC repairman. He installs new equipment and repairs existing equipment and he’s growing his business out here.”
“We’ve enjoyed all of the support and love we’ve received out here in Fayetteville,” mentioned Alexus. Sophie is in kindergarten and Noah is new to the world at three weeks old.
