Muldoon VFD Annual Fundraiser And Open House Slated April 20

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 20. Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department is planning their annual fundraiser and open house. They are planning on opening the doors at 10 a.m. with a meal of hamburgers and hot dogs with chips, water and tea. Guests are asked to bring along their favorite side dish and/or dessert to share. They will hold a silent auction from 10 a.m.2 p.m. with a live auction at 12:30 p.m. Make plans now to attend.

Out and About

Kathy Chlumsky went to Austin recently to pick up Girl Scout Cookie orders from her granddaughter Olivia. While there she got the chance to enjoy lunch with her daughter, Summer at a little Korean restaurant before picking up Olivia from school. While there they got the chance to check out the school bookfair that Olivia’s school was promoting. They of coarse found some books they just had to have. Afterwards they picked up Olivia’s brother, Marcus from daycare. Marcus and “Grandma Kathy,” as he was very strong about everyone calling her the correct name, played in the backyard. It was a wonderful day for everyone involved! Grandma Kathy even came home with refrigerator artwork to display.

Nancie and Billy Blair celebrated their great granddaughter, Cadence’s third birthday. They had a nice little crowd including Nancie’s sister and brother in law, Lu and Fred Ginapp. The Ginapps brought along Nancie and Lu’s mom, Elaine Lang from the Fort Worth area. Cadence’s grandfather, Greg Schick came in from Magnolia, her uncle Kelley came in from Houston as well. The surprise was for Elaine when her grandson Jeremy Lang and his family came in from Katy to exchange Christmas gifts. It was a great celebration of both Christmas and a birthday.

Church News

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is planning on having “Sunday Vittles” on Sunday Feb. 25. They invite the community to come out and attend the morning worship service at 10 a.m. and stay after the message to enjoy some wonderful home cooked “vittles.” Bring your favorite dish to share with everyone and enjoy the wonderful Christian fellowship.

SG2C is looking ahead to the upcoming Easter celebration and they are planning a Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. They are also planning on serving breakfast afterward in the pavilion. Then at 10 a.m. there will be an Easter Service lead by Pastor Butch. Following the service everyone is invited outside for a big Easter Egg Hunt. Everyone, both young and old, is invited to come out and hunt for some eggs! Make plans now if you are looking for a place to go on Easter. This is a warm and embracing church who wants to share the love of Christ with the community.

Looking into the future also make plans to attend the SG2C Spring Round Up on Saturday, April 27. There will be a “Kids’ Zone” with lots of fun games for the little ones. Plans for hamburgers, a “Dummy Roping” with belt buckles as prizes and a “Corn Hole” tournament, and there will be vendors (if you want to set up shop at the event, there are spaces available for $25.) This will be a fun event and if you would like more information, to donate items or to volunteer, contact either Dave Derrick at (281) 788-8648 or Antoinette Joplin at (979) 561-6973.
