    Muldoon Museum Reopens March 4

Make plans now and clear your calendar for the grand reopening of the Muldoon Museum that is being planned for Saturday. March 4. This is a great chance to come check out all the wonderful work that has been done to the old Muldoon Courthouse. With all the remodeling and repairs, the volunteers are hard at work arranging and rearranging the items, cleaning and working on a layout that will maximize use of the space available. These are items from Muldoon’s history. There are items from home life, the railroad that was so intricate at one time, farm equipment and a salute to those who fought for our country.

If anyone is interested in getting involved in the community this is a great starting point. New volunteers are always welcome to come and add their effort and labors to those individuals who already volunteer their time. This is a great effort to keep the local Muldoon history alive and remembered. The museum is only open one Saturday a month and help is always needed in various forms. If this sounds interesting and you would like more information contact Virginia Boehnke at (830) 839-4527. If you do not have the time, but want to help preserve our local history the Museum always accepts donations to help with the operations.

Rain

Early Wednesday morning saw some much needed moisture come through. Rain continued to fall all day long with intermittent showers falling bringing around nine tenths of an inch of rain to the area. The pastures are now muddy and ready to start growing spring grasses.

Temperatures have dropped some and with the rain hung in the fifties. The moisture made it feel cooler.

Better Body For Me

The Better Body For Me Group will be meeting at the fire station on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 9 a.m. The group will talk about accomplishments, encouragement, healthy recipes and exercise hints. Come join in to support each other for a healthy lifestyle.

Out and About

James and I joined Ron and Pam Knotts for a fun trip to Katy to eat at Babin’s Seafood House. It was a fun trip, even with all the rain. The food was delicious and we had a great time visiting.

Jennifer Rightmer hosted six of her Chi Omega sisters from Sam Houston. It is the first time in a few years they have had a chance to get together and catch up with all the happenings in each other’s lives. They also did lots of reminiscing of their days at Sam Houston University.

Traffic

Many locals have noticed an increase in traffic on both FM 154 and FM 2237. With this increase of vehicles traveling through be sure to pay attention and be aware of those who are out and about feeding their livestock and workers headed to the various jobs in the area. Tractors and big trucks cannot stop quickly and with hay bale this makes it harder to stop short and others are taking feed to their various pastures. Slow down and pay attention while traveling in the area and keep Muldoon safe.
