Muldoon Museum Reopening
The renovations to the Muldoon Museum are done. All the construction has been completed and it looks really good. The siding was replaced with hardy plank and painted. The building was leveled. All new windows were put in along with new bars over the windows. The new bars even have MM incorporated into the design. There was a new ramp was installed making access even better than the old ramp. This is such a boost to the look of the “downtown” area of Muldoon.
A grand reopening is being planned for Saturday, March 4 to allow time for cleaning and rearranging in the interior of the museum. Display items are being sorted, cleaned and rearranged to maximize use of the space available. This is such a wonderful collection of history of the area and there is lots of loving care put into the displays.
New volunteers are always welcomed and are needed to help keep the local Muldoon history alive and remembered. For more information or to volunteer contact Virginia Boehnke at (830) 839-4527. She will be more than happy to fill you in on what they need and all the details of when and where. It’s a great opportunity to get involved locally. The museum is steeped in history and would provide a great chance to learn more about the area.
