Carl and Carolyn Caflisch have been busy beautifying Muldoon. They cleaned up, painted and put new flowers on the Little Lending Library in front of the Muldoon Volunteer Fire Station. They have spiffed it up for the upcoming summer reading season. There also will be some children’s books added in late May to gear the Lending Library for the summer break reading, be looking for that.

Take advantage of this great community resource. It is free and the selections are always rotating. There are books for all ages and you never know what you might find, so check often. If you cannot travel, then grab a book and take a trip in your imagination. Take a book or leave a book. It is a great way you can spend your time.

Quilt Trip

Kim Lueders Bonewald lead a group of ladies, Nancie Blair, Pam Knotts, Kaitlin Stubbs, Tricia Griste, Minnie Parker and myself, who have been on a great quilting adventure on and off for the past couple months to visit the 105 quilt shops all over the great state of Texas on the All Texas Shop Hop.

For the months of March and April, in various combinations of our group, we have traveled from one tip of Texas to another – from Amarillo to Alamo and from Texarkana to Midland and all kinds of points in between – as we sought out the shops on the list to collect our stamps and little collectors blocks. Kim can claim to have driven the entire hop. On Tuesday, April 30, Kim, Nancie, Kaitlin, Pam and I made up the final five combination of ladies to drive to Copperas Cove and to A Touch of Southern Charm in order to claim our last stamp, block and round out a wonderful adventure. Now we are all set to begin some new sewing and quilting projects in earnest. Out and About

Nancie Blair was busy running all around over the weekend she made a trip to Fort Worth to surprise her mom, Elaine Lang for her 93rd birthday. It was a girl’s day out for them as they were joined by Nancie’s sister Lu Ginapp, niece Chrystal Riddell and her daughter Carolina. They all attended a Ranger’s baseball game where they had extra special seating and dining just to add to the fun of celebrating a birthday.

Church News

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church’s Spring Round Up was a total success. Loads of fun was had by both the young and the young at heart. Everything from fishing in the fish pond for the youngsters to pitching corn hole for those of the older age group and lots of excitement in between was had by all who attended. If you missed it, plan on attending the next event at this exciting church in our little community. They have brought God’s word and love to anyone who comes across their paths.

This spring the SG2C will be graduating five young ladies out of high school: Bobbie Jo Banks, Jillian Hightower, Trinity Campion, Faith Kusko and Jordyn Hunger. These young ladies are a great example of youth on fire for Christ. They have been very active in the Wednesday night ROPE program and have served their church and the Lord with great enthusiasm and faithfulness.

SG2C meets every Sunday starting at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and fellowship followed by worship service at 10 a.m. If you are looking for a church to embrace you here is the church for you. This church has come in and embraced Muldoon with their whole heart. They have welcomed anyone looking for a church home that is Christ based. Stop in and check it out. The youth ages 13-18 met on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. and are served a meal to start off their evening and all area youth are invited to come and check it out.
