Muldoon Ladies Go Quilt Shopping

I and two other Muldoon ladies, Pam Knotts and Nancie Blair, picked up Tricia Grist in Praha and traveled to Victoria for a “Poker Run Shop Hop.” At our first shop we met up with Kim (Lueders) Bonewald and started our adventure. We visited three stores in all. One in Victoria, one in Ganado and the last one was in Port Lavaca. At two of the shops we drew two cards and at one shop drew just one from their deck. Our cards were recorded on our shop hop guide that we turned in at the very last. There were prizes for the best hand and all those who had bad hands were thrown into a drawing for two more prizes.

We each came home with new treasures to add to our stashes. It was fun going out and just having a girls’ day.

Out and About

Nancy Cherry is finally home and on the mend from having her second knee replaced. She is doing great with therapy and very thankful to have had her daughter, Anne-Marie Cherry come in from Columbus, Georgia to help out. Anne Marie dropped her mom off in Muldoon and headed back to the east coast to get ready for the fall semester that is coming up quick.

Jennifer and Clay Rightmer went to Houston on Sunday to visit with and go to church with their son Reed Rightmer.

Kathy Chlumsky took off recently and headed to Austin for a little time with grandkids, Olivia and Marcus. She also got a chance to go shopping with their mom, Summer Smith.

Weather

Things are pretty hot and very dry in the Muldoon area. A few very lucky people got some sprinkles when all the thunder and lightning went through earlier in the week. No real rain fell, but everyone was hopeful. Temperatures have been well into the 100’s every day.

Ill

There are several who have fallen ill in the area. Everything from allergies, summer colds to COVID has been popping up. Be sure and check on your neighbors, especially the elderly who might need a little extra help in this horrible heat.

Take time and plan your day with the most activity in the cooler morning hours. Try and keep out of the heat as much as possible and drink lots of water.
