MULDOON
News
Everyone in the Muldoon area is invited to the Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department Open House on Saturday, June 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. This will be an opportunity for everyone to check out the trucks and see how the trucks work or maybe answer some questions. There will be all kinds of information for the kids along with some fun actives for them to participate in.
The department will have snacks and water available to enjoy. They also will be selling their gun raffle tickets. The funds from the raffle will help with the operational and equipment costs. Members of the department will be on hand to meet the public and answer any questions you might have. MVFD Auxiliary will be on hand to sign up new members and to answer any questions about the auxiliary.
4th of July
Make plans to attend the 4th of July celebration in Muldoon. The community will be celebrating the 4th of July early on Saturday, July 1. A parade is once again planned. Parade line up begins at 8:30 a.m. by the Baptist Church, with the parade scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to come out and join in all the fun by being in the parade or watching it. Use your creativity and join in the parade by riding, walking or maybe pulling something. Those who wish to watch can do so by lining up along FM 154 or in the park as it loops through.
There will be an auction following the parade at 10:30 a.m. in the park under the pavilion. Items are needed for the auction to help raise funds to maintain the park. Bring something nice you know your neighbors would love to get in a bidding war over and watch the fun as it is auctioned off to raise money for park improvements and just day to day maintenance. There will be both a silent and a live auction, so put your thinking caps on and find that generous heart to donate some really nice items to the Muldoon Park.
After the auction, there will be a picnic style lunch held. This year hot dogs will be provided and everyone is asked to bring side dishes and desserts to share. Bottled water also will be provided. Just in case, bring a lawn chair to insure a seat to get comfortable in and enjoy catching up or maybe even meeting your neighbors.
Granddaughter Graduates Ron and Pam Knotts’ granddaughter Gabrielle Knotts graduated with honors from Sam Houston University. Ron and Pam got to experience the graduation online. Thanks to advanced classes in High School she finished her degree in three years. She was lucky to be able to walk for her graduation. Due to limited seating Ron and Pam tuned into the broadcast from home. Gabby hopes to work with animals in the future, but she is not sure what direction that will take her at this time. She has worked hard and is looking forward to a great future that is ahead of her.

Rain
Muldoon has been seeing some showers of rain this past week. Some of the showers have brought up to three inches in one spot and only an inch and a half just a couple miles away. There also have been some crazy winds that had, in one case, some small hail with it.
