Devon Boehnke joined daughter and son in law, Dana and Darrell Kulak for a big trip up to the Arlington area to celebrate Easter with Dana and Darrell’s grandson, Henry, and his parents, Elton and Miko Kulak. Dana and Darrell also got to see daughter, Cynthia Kulak, and her boyfriend, August Knobbe, for a wonderful Easter weekend. The group all gathered at Miko’s parents’ home, Fred and Sharon Anderson’s on Sunday for Easter fun and festivities.

John and Debra Schwartzenburg hosted John’s family for Easter weekend including Easter Dinner and Bluebonnet pictures. John’s brother and sister in law, Irvin and Kayleen Schwartzenburg, as well as nephew, David, and his wife and son, Alexandra and Lucian, all came in from New Caney. Also joining in were niece, Becky, and her husband, Will Trasowech, from Houston. Joining in the family festivities from just down Speed Lane was Nada and Ted Burns and Lauren Schwartzenburg.

Jennifer and Clay Rightmer hosted Easter Weekend for the family. Their kids, Lane and Reed, both were able to make it in for some much needed “Muldoon time,” and Jennifer’s sister, Julie Zavala, traveled from Georgetown and was joined by her kids, Zack and Kaylin Zavala, for some fun in the country.

Ron and Pam Knotts were invited recently to an Easter picnic out at the Boethel Ranch near New Ulm. The picnic is held annually on the Saturday before Easter. The family extends an invitation to friends and family from far and wide. This tradition has been going on for 42 years and covers several generations. There is always home smoked brisket, chicken, and sausage to go with the pot luck sides and desserts. After lunch there are hay rides, Easter egg hunts and a piñata. Ron and Don have known each other for more than 50 years, having worked together in the Houston Police Department and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. It was a very classic way to celebrate family and friends on Easter.

Kathy Chlumsky recently took a trip into Austin to celebrate daughter Summer Smith’s birthday. She and the grandkids, Marcus and Olivia, enjoyed lunch and some outside time.

Fundraiser

The 2024 Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department Fund-raiser and Open House is coming up on Saturday April 20. There will be live and silent auctions going on along with a fire extinguisher demonstration. Smoky the Bear will be making an appearance to greet the kids and the Texas Forest Service will also be in attendance with lots of fire prevention information for everyone.

MVFD will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs along with chips and drinks. Everyone is invited to bring along a favorite side dish and/ or dessert to share for lunch. They also will be handing out snow cones to keep everyone cool. Make plans now to come out and see what is going on at the fire station. All the funds will be going towards the purchase of new equipment to keep the area safe.
