Stray Gathering Cowboy Church held a Turkey Shoot the last weekend in October. It was a beautiful day for a shoot and everyone who came out enjoyed the fellowship and the sunny weather. Congratulations go out to Georgia Swenson who won the Turkey Shoot Championship buckle and to Butch Murphy on winning the buckle for the Clay Shoot.
SG2C appreciates the Fayette County Gun Club for coming out and supporting this first Annual Clay and Turkey shoot. They are already making plans for next year’s shoot, so start practicing and come out and try your hand at some fun shooting.
Church News
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is in full swing for the month of November. Coming up on Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 6-8 p.m. the ROPE youth would like to invite everyone to come out and join in a Thanksgiving Dinner and an awesome evening of fellowship ROPE style. There will be turkey and ham and ask everyone to bring a side dish or dessert to share. This is a great way to begin the holiday season.
Then on Saturday, Nov. 18 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. the SG2C will be setting up a table at the Flatonia Fall Fest. They are taking the opportunity to reach out and invite people to come join in all that is going on at SG2C. The plan is to join in the community fun and hand out bags of popcorn with “POP ON IN to the Stray Gathering Cowboy Church” on the labels that will be attached to each bag of popcorn. Anyone interested in finding out more about the church can do so by just dropping by their table and visiting with the friendly folks there.
SG2C meets each and every Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and fellowship. Then at 10 a.m. the worship service begins. Anyone and everyone in and around the area are invited to drop in and check out the church. On Wednesdays the youth group, ROPE, meet from 6-8 p.m. for some fun and fellowship while learning more about the Bible. This is open to youth ages 1318 years old. It’s a fun group of kids who are really expanding their faith and knowledge.
Out and About
Nancie Blair recently traveled up to the Fort Worth area to visit her mom, Elaine Lang. They managed to go to the Rangers vs Astros playoff game on Friday. Then on Saturday Nancie attended an end of season picnic for the women’s baseball club, WTRC, with her mom and sister Lu Ginapp.
I took off last Friday to SanAntonio for one more visit with my cousin, Patty Keaton. We enjoyed a day of quilt shop hopping and visiting. We had a really good time until we experienced some torrential rain which flooded the roads. It made for an interesting drive home.
Devon Boehnke, Dana and Darrell Kulak enjoyed a visit from Devon’s daughter and son in law, Beth and Jack Field of Magnolia; and Devon’s son Jeremy Wells of Pflugerville. They are working hard to build some cow pens.
Weather
Muldoon has seen some rain over the last week. We received enough to have some mud puddles standing and the ground muddy. Along with the rain we also received the cold weather. Temperatures dropped into the low 40s, but it was the winds that were making things down right miserable if you need to get anything done outdoors.
