Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is alive and very active in the community. Church services begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning with a coffee and fellowship with the worship time beginning at 10 a.m. each and every Sunday. Anyone interested or curious about the church are invited to come out and come in for a wonderful, uplifting service that will start your week off right.

During the week SG2C is hosting a youth gathering, ROPE (Rely On Prayer Everyday) on Wednesday nights 6-8 p.m. This is a great way for youth to learn about God and make some great Christian ties and connections. All area teenagers ages 13 to 18 are invited to come and check it out.

SG2C is gearing up for their 3 day revival happening on Oct. 6-8. One of the things they will be doing at the revival is collecting items for the Bastrop/Lee/Fayette County Women’s Shelter. Items they are collecting include: alarm clocks, bras, diapers, combs, hairbrushes, lotions, razors, shampoo, socks, washcloths, along with assorted pantry items. These items will be collected during the revival and delivered to the shelter to help out those women in need. It is a great outreach of God’s love to those who need help. Consider picking up an item or two to bring along when you come to the revival.

Rain

Muldoon is finally seeing a touch of the wet stuff. As of Thursday morning 0.15 of an inch, which is more than we have seen in a long time and at least settled the dust, for the moment. The promise of more rain is in the forecast and it is much needed. Things have become very dry with large cracks in the soil, water sources drying up and many wild animals looking for somewhere to survive.

Birthday Celebration

Kathy and Frank Chlumsky traveled to Cedar Creek Railroad to celebrate their grandson Marcus Williams third birthday. Everyone, adults included, enjoyed riding the train ride and indulging in some birthday cake. The day was nice with lots of tree cover and a nice breeze to keep everyone cool.

Great Grandbaby

Devon Boehnke is once again a great grandpa with his granddaughter, Grace and husband Todd Shaddock welcomed their fourth child and second daughter Amelia Ann. She weighted eight pounds seven ounces.

Out and About

Nancie Blair slipped off to Fort Worth to see her mom, Elaine Lang. While there they went to see a 911 tribute by the Vocal Majority at the Dallas Symphony Hall on Monday. It was a nice visit and they all enjoyed catching up. While there Nancie’s granddaughter, Zoe Holland and her friend Naomi stopped by on their road trip from California to North Carolina. The timing was perfect for an extra special visit.

James and Joan Ivy traveled last week to Las Vegas to meet up with Joan’s cousins, Patty and John Keaton for a few days. They enjoyed running around, driving over Hoover Dam, looking at the lake and then digging in some antique/junk stores along with the mandatory stop at a quilt shop. They packed a lot of visiting in a couple of days along with some good eating.

Devon Boehnke and daughter Dana Kulak slipped off on Saturday to go to Devon’s great grandson Luke Zimmerhanzel’s seventh birthday party on Saturday.
