Muldoon Church Gathering Items for Women’s Shelter
Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is currently gathering items for the Bastrop/ Lee/Fayette County Women’s Shelter. They are looking for personal care items like alarm clocks, bras, diapers, combs, hair brushes, lotions, razors, shampoo, socks, and washcloths. All items a woman or her children may need when seeking shelter from domestic violence. If you would like to donate, just come by and drop the items at the church. Maybe even stay for a service.
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is staying busy on Wednesday nights with the ROPE (Rely On Prayer Everyday.) They host the area youth ages 13-18 years olds 6-8 p.m. each week. They feed them supper and teach them strong Biblical teachings.
The SG2C first Revival was a huge success. Dwayne Williams was an amazing singer and preacher and brought some wonder songs and messages at each service. The first annual auction, for raising funds to help with the outreach programs brought in over $10,000. What a blessing and the heifer raffle brought in over $7,000 with Peggy Bertsch winning the beautiful heifer.
SG2C is also gathering nonperishable food items for Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets. They are coming on strong for their mission for God, reaching out to the community and helping those in need.
Want to check out this busy group of Christian worshipers? Come any Sunday morning, starting at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and fellowship and then the worship service begins at 10 a.m. They are a welcoming church that invites anyone in the area who is curious to come by and check them out.
Grandson Wins
Trevor Crainer, grandson of Patti Holly won the 2023 CPBR (Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association) All Around Championship. The finals were held in Angleton recently. This is quite an accomplishment that Trevor has been working towards all year and was awarded a beautiful new saddle for his hard work. Trevor competed in Tie Down and Steer Dogging this year to make the finals. He is from Carrizo Springs. Patti attends as many of the rodeos as she can, but was unable to make the finals this year. She was able to watch the rodeo live.
Trevor will be competing again in December. He is headed to Las Vegas to the Junior NFR (National Finals Rodeo). If you see Trevor in Muldoon be sure and congratulate him.
Reunion
Jennifer and Clay Rightmer traveled to Comanche to attend the Gleaton/Porter Family Reunion at the Brennan Vineyards venue. Joining Jennifer and Clay was their daughter Lane Rightmer who drove in from the Waco area. It was a wonderful get together and reconnection for all the family. It was Jennifer’s dad; Will Howard took home the award for being the oldest attendee. Slow Down
Recently Muldoon has been looking like a raceway on the weekends. Porsches were racing through the area and it did not appear they were just enjoying the local scenery. They sped along the local FM roads enjoying the beautiful weather, but had anyone pulled out from their driveway or if there had been moving equipment it might would not have been easy for them to stop.
Motorcycles and bicycles are more the norm and they are more casual riders than racers. They usually are out in the beautiful weather. Just enjoying the countryside and relaxing.
Keep aware of these who are out “enjoying” our somewhat quiet part of the world. This just adds to the roadway drama. Dead hogs have been littering the ditches recently, most obviously hit by someone traveling through. Be careful when out and about in the area.
Out and About
Devon Boehnke enjoyed a visit from a few of his kids. Son Jeremy Wells came in from the Pflugerville area. Daughter and son in law, Beth and Jack Field came in from the Magnolia area. They all came to assist Darrell and Dana Kulak build and repair pens on the family ranch.
