Muldoon Christmas Event Cancelled
ULDOON
The annual Christmas in Muldoon will not be happening this year. The main staple of Christmas in Muldoon, the Muldoon Courthouse, is currently under renovation and cannot function as the hub of the Christmas affair.
The Muldoon Volunteer fire department is still holding their annual Christmas dinner on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. at the fire department. Everyone is invited and is asked to bring their favorite side dish or dessert to share with everyone.
Also happening at that event will be crafting fun to be had. This will include the children helping an adult. This will happen just prior to the fire department Christmas meal. It is also rumored that Santa Clause will be making an appearance. More details should be coming.
Crafting Fun
The 1st Annual Muldoon Craft Party went off with great success. In attendance were Jackie Harker, Nancie Blair, Ann Ivy, Sherri Ray, Diana Wilson, Arlene Ray, Evette Garza, Debra Schwartzenburg, Maria Castellanos and hostess Karen Jacobs all enjoyed an evening of laughter and wonderful visiting along with the creating.
The ladies had a great time showing off their creative side making some fun Christmas themed items. They got to choose their colors and enhancements for their project. Along with the fun projects the ladies enjoyed some delicious food and Christmas music that was provided by Al Forsythe.
Local Veteran Honored
Local veteran, Patrick J. Lyons and his wife attended an event in Georgetown. The Rotary Club of Georgetown hosted the Field of Honor, which is a dramatic display of up to sixteen hundred U.S. Flags honoring past and present military and first responders for Veterans Day.
Anita Lyons had the honor of having a flag flown for her husband, Patrick J. Lyons. Lyons served as an Army LRRP Ranger in Vietnam. He earned the Silver Star for Valor and a Purple Heart in service for his country.
Rain
Rain has been falling in the Muldoon area. Over half an inch fell last Monday and made the day seem really cold and damp. Seems we went from summer to winter with not much fall in between.
All the rain seems to have gotten the hogs moving again and a number of them have been hit along the roadside. Use caution when driving in the area, especially at night and when it is raining.
