Muldoon Area Reportedly Sees 10 Inches of Rain

Muldoon Area Reportedly Sees 10 Inches of Rain

It has been an exciting week in the Muldoon area with all the rain that has fallen. One report was around ten inches total. With all that has fallen, it was just a matter of time when the creeks would get out and cross the roads. The ground has become saturated and this is driving the water to somewhere else. Saturday saw around four inches fall in a short time and water came up and across the roads in multiple spots. As the roads do flood, please do not cross! Rushing water of a few inches can lift and float a vehicle. Still waters can be much deeper than they appear and spots can be washed out and will not be visible. “Turn around don’t drown” is very good advice.

Also coming in with all the water was strong winds that took down trees, whose base were in the soggy ground. A big tree on Live Oak Creek just off the bridge on West FM 2237 fell due to the soft ground and strong wind combination.

 Out and About

Nancie and Billie Blair enjoyed having daughters Heather Tillerson and Teresa Holland come in for Mothers’ Day. The weather was not good, but they did enjoy catching up and just visiting.

Kathy Chlumsky made a quick trip to Austin to babysit her grandchildren, Olivia and Marcus, so their parents could go to a play. Kathy got to sit in on Olivia’s Hip Hop dance class. It was so much fun and she is looking forward to seeing the upcoming recital that will be even more fun!

Dana and Darrell Kulak slipped away to the Fort Worth area to visit with their grandson Henry and his parents Elton and Miko Kulak. They report he is doing well and growing fast!

Ron and Pam Knotts recently traveled to San Antonio for a concert at the Majestic Theater. They went to see the artist Josh Turner and were treated to all his big hits, including several from his Gospel album. The musicians were amazing and during the concert the guitars, fiddle and steel guitars were all featured. The next day Ron and Pam went to lunch at LaFonda a favorite restaurant on North Main. It was a favorite from the days when Ron’s grandmother lived in San Antonio. On their trip home they detoured through Lockhart for a stop at Black’s Barbecue. Music and good food made for a great weekend.
