The next movie night, hosted by Round Top Lions Club in conjunction with hamburger night at the Round Top Rifle Hall, will be June 20. “Sing 2” will be the featured film. Buy a burger meal and enjoy a free movie. Movies begin at 6:30 p.m.

Round Top Rifle Hall

The Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social is the first through third Monday of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA. The 172nd Round Top 4th of July Celebration will be held on July 4. The parade kicks-off at 10 a.m. on the Round Top Square. Following the parade, a delicious BBQ dinner will be served at the Rifle Hall. Each meal will be $15 and served in a to-go container. Hall members are also offering meat by the pound at the pit starting at 10:30 a.m. All meat must be preordered. Call (979) 249-7335 to place your order for brisket, pork, chicken or sausage.

The Round Top Brass Band, Round Top Jam Session, and Cool Freddie and the Crew will be performing music throughout the afternoon. A raffle will be held as well.

Live Events

The last Sunday of each month, Blue Mule Winery hosts Red’s Name That Tune Bingo starting 3 p.m. Come out to win prizes and make new friends.

Enjoy live music at The Stone Cellar every Friday and Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. Live music Sundays at 4 p.m.

Festival Hill

The 2022 Round Top Music Festival is underway at Festival Hill. Master Class performances continue throughout the month featuring professional musicians daily through July 16. This week’s events include “A French Accent” Saturday, June 18 at 1:30 p.m., followed by “Mozart Forever…” at 3:30 p.m. and the Texas Festival Orchestra at 7:30 p.m., Maura McCune Corvington on the Horn Monday, June 20 at 1:30 p.m., Young Persons’ Concert Tuesday at 11 a.m., Carol Wincence on the Flute Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., Emilio Colon on the Cello Thursday at 1:30 p.m., Guillaume Sutre on the Violin Friday at 1:30 p.m., followed by Young Artists Chamber Groups at 7:30 p.m. For a full list of performers, or to purchase tickets, visit festivalhill.org.

Round Top Family Library

Round Top Family Library is open Monday-Friday from 1:30- 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Adult Yoga meets Mondays at 5 p.m. A low-impact strength training class will meet July 13, 20 and 27 at 10 a.m. Please bring light weights for this class. Summer Chess Club is for ages 7 to adult. They meet every Wednesday in June and July from 2–3 p.m.

The Kids S.E.E. summer program is underway. These classes are free and focus on science, cooking, arts and gardening. This program is offered to children entering kindergarten through sixth grade.

Summer Art for Teens (ages 13–18) is held Mondays and Wednesdays in June and July from 3:30-5 p.m. Class size is limited so reserve your spot today.

Thursday, June 23, SEE presents “Whales, Whales, Whales” with Storyteller Ken Frawley at 4 p.m. Join singer, storyteller, and puppeteer Ken Frawley for a fun sing-along and laugh-along show featuring animal songs, stories and puppets. Enjoy new and traditional animal songs, including “Whales, Whales, Whales,” and participatory stories featuring some of Ken’s silly puppets. Great fun for the whole family. This is a free program, open to the public. Please bring your picnic blanket or lawn chair.

Round Top-Carmine ISD

RTC ISD offers several options for camp throughout the summer. The Band Program is for grades 5-12. Text rtcband512 to 81010 for more information and to stay updated throughout the school year.

Basketball Camp is July 11-13 for grades 2-5 is 9-10:30 a.m., grades 6-8 is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and grades 9-12 is 2-4 p.m. Cost is $50. Registration deadline is June 30.

Volleyball Camp is July 27- 29. Grades 2-5 is from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., grades 6-8 is 12:30-2:30 p.m., and grades 9-12 is 3-6 p.m. Registration deadline is June 30.

Summer Skill Work is for incoming 7-12 grades only. Session 1 will be held Mondays through Fridays, June 6 through July 22 from 9 to 10 a.m. Session 2 will be held Monday through Thursdays, June 6 through July 21 from 5 to 6 p.m. Athletes may attend one session per day. This is free and there is no registration deadline.

Strength and Conditioning for incoming 7-12 graders will be held in two sessions. Session 1 is Mondays through Fridays, June 6 through July 22 from 8-9 a.m. Session 2 is Mondays through Thursdays, June 6 through July 21 from 4-5 p.m. Athletes may attend 1 session per day. This is free and there is no registration deadline.

Sons of Hermann

The next meeting will be held June 23. Guests are asked to wear red, white and blue. Jeanette Schoenst will present the program. A hot meal will be served for dinner, members are asked to bring dessert.

Church News

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday School is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Adult Bible Study is held the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Confirmation class is held Wednesdays at 4:15 p.m.

BLC Ruth Circle met for bible study Thursday, June 2. Pastor John David Nedbalek led the study on quilting and patterns. After group discussion, it was brought up those patterns of life are similar to the patterns on the quilt, materials and slip covers that were displayed on the tables. Kathy Schatte served as hostess. The next bible study will be July 7; all are invited to join.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds Worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee, and Sunday School at 9:45 a.m.. Game Day is held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Bring a snack, board game, dominoes, etc. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m.
