The next movie nights hosted by Round Top Lions Club in conjunction with hamburger night at the Round Top Rifle Hall will be July 11 featuring “A Dog’s Journey.” Buy a burger meal and enjoy a free movie. Movies begin at 6:30 p.m.

Round Top Rifle Hall

The Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social is the first through third Monday of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA. 4th of July Celebration

The 172nd Round Top 4th of July Celebration will be held on July 4. The parade kicks-off at 10 a.m. on the Round Top Square. Following the parade, a delicious BBQ dinner will be served at the Rifle Hall. Each meal will be $15 and served in a to-go container. Hall members are also offering meat by the pound at the pit starting at 10:30 a.m. All meat must be preordered. Call (979) 249-7335 to place your order for brisket, pork, chicken or sausage.

Round Top Brass Band

The Round Top Brass Band, Round Top Jam Session, and Cool Freddie and the Crew will be performing music throughout the afternoon. A raffle will be held as well.

Live Events

The last Wednesday of each month, Blue Mule Winery hosts Red’s Terrific Trivia from 6:30 -8:30 p.m. Come out to win prizes, trophies and make new friends. Teams welcome. On the last Sunday of each month, Blue Mule hosts Red’s Name That Tune Bingo starting at 3 p.m. Come out to win prizes.

Enjoy live music at The Stone Cellar every Friday and Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. Live music Sundays at 4 p.m.

Festival Hill

The 2022 Round Top Music Festival is underway at Festival Hill. Master Class performances continue throughout the month featuring professional musicians daily through July 16. This week’s events include Carte Blanche to Carol Wincenc Saturday, July 2 at 3:30 p.m., followed by Texas Festival Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. A Texas Tribute Patriotic Concert will be Sunday at 3 p.m., Alberto Suarez on the Horn Monday at 1:30 p.m., Stephen Balderston on the Cello Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., Brett Deubner on the Viola Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., Chen Zhao on the Violin Thursday at 1:30 p.m., Andrew Parker on the Oboe Friday at 1:30 p.m., and the Young Artists Chamber Music Concert at 7:30 p.m. For a full list of performers, or to purchase tickets, visit festivalhill.org.

Round Top Family Library

Round Top Family Library is open Monday-Friday from 1:30-5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Adult Yoga meets Mondays at 5 p.m. A low-impact strength training class will meet July 13, 20 and 27 at 10 a.m. Please bring light weights for this class.

Summer Chess Club is for ages 7-adult. They meet every Wednesday in June and July from 2-3 p.m.

A Healthy Cooking Class by Nancy Addison, CHC, AADP, CSN, CPT will be held Saturday, July 9 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Library Annex. Nancy will demonstrate some delicious gluten-free recipes, guide in fun and captivating ways to shift your life to a healthier way of living and show you how to live with optimum health. Class size is limited to 25 people. Call or email the library to sign up.

The Kids S.E.E. summer program is underway. These classes are free and focus on science, cooking, arts and gardening. This program is offered to children entering kindergarten through sixth grade.

Thursday, July 14 at 4 p.m. come see snake man, Clint Pustejovsky. This free program will teach kids about snakes and he will even bring some of his friends along. Please bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair.

Summer Art for Teens (ages 13-18) is held Mondays and Wednesdays in June and July from 3:30-5 p.m. Class size is limited so reserve your spot today.

Round Top-Carmine ISD

RT-C ISD offers several options for camp throughout the summer. The band program is for grades 5-12. Text rtcband512 to 81010 for more information and to stay updated throughout the school year.

Basketball Camp is July 11-13. Grades 2-5 are 9-10:30 a.m., grades 6-8 are 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and grades 9-12 are 2-4 p.m. Cost is $50. Registration deadline is June 30.

Volleyball Camp is July 27-29. Grades 2-5 are 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m., grades 6-8 are 12:30-2:30 p.m., and grades 9-12 are 3-6 p.m. Registration deadline is June 30.

Sons of Hermann

President Lila Garlin called the regular monthly meeting of Hermann Sons Life to order on June 23 at the American Legion Hall in Round Top with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Ray Ullrich’s transfer was approved by a round of applause. Linda Mattock’s agent report mentioned dance class registration was in progress and camp registration would be available for a few more weeks.

Hermann Sons Life will sponsor a country store with the Ledbetter Fire Department Feast in October. A moment of silent prayer was observed for the passing of Delvin Zingelmann, who died on June 13 at the age of 94. A get-well prayer was said for Jo Ann Schlabach. Community Coordinator, Melanie Rauch, sent a list of get-well cards. A special poem by Howard Schnauber, “I am the Flag” was read by Jeanette Schoenst, followed by “That Once Was Us”.

Happy Birthday was sung to Sedalia Ullrich and Sophie Rauch. Happy Anniversary wishes were sent to Ted and Margie Stardig for 62 years, Mert and Leonard Meinkowsky for 58 years, Jo Ann and Ray Ullrich for 49 years, and Carol and Doug Fewell for 44 years.

Door prizes were won by Betty Porter and Leonard Meinkowsky. Attendance prizes were won by Jeanette Schoenst, Sedalia Ullrich, Lynette Hamilton, Pearlie Wagner and Sophie Rauch.

Jeanette Schoenst closed the meeting by reading the lyrics to “Old Rugged Cross” by Johnny Cash. The next meeting will be held July 28. The new serving committee for the next three months will be Mary and Melanie Rauch, Bob and Betty Porter, and Jeff and Cathy Gau. A big thank you to Ted and Margie Stardig, Barton and Lila Garlin, and Pearlie and Wayne Wagner for the past three months. The chili dogs with potato salad, green salad, all the veggies, fruit and desserts were served.

St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square. Music is provided by Joey McGee. A Men’s Faith and Wellness group meets Thursdays from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. through July 21. The group explores how living out the Great Commandment, to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, can change your life for the better and draw you closer to God.
