Vacation Bible School will be held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church June 9-13 from 5:30-7:45 p.m. The closing program will be on Sunday, June 16 during the 10 a.m. worship service.

“Scuba – Diving into Friendship with God” is the theme. Register at vbspro. events/p/mllcbethlehemscuba.

Salad Supper 

The Women of the ELCA are hosting their annual salad supper and program on Wednesday, June 5 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The theme is “Give Me That Old Time Religion.” Everyone is invited to attend.

Carmine VFD 

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night is on June 13 at 7 p.m.

The Firemen’s Feast and Fundraiser will be held the third Sunday in July, which is on July 21 this year.

Bingo for Seniors 

Bingo for Seniors (age 60 and older, plus guests) has a change of date for June. It will be held on the third Sunday. The location is at the Ledbetter Community Center from 2 to 4 p.m. Cost is $5 per card, which covers 10 plus games and prizes. Chips, snacks and drinks are available for a freewill donation.

This is a nonprofit community event for entertainment. The next date is June 16.

Casino Night Magic! 

Carmine Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Casino Night Magic! On Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Carmine Hall. It begins at 6 p.m.

Stamps for the Wounded 

Martin Luther Lutheran Church Women of the ELCA are collecting cancelled postage stamps for Stamps for the Wounded. This organization serves wounded and ill servicemen and women who are in and out-patients at Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals located across the country.

Please leave a one-fourth inch edge around the stamps. Bring them to the church.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine ISD is on break for the summer. Administrative offices will be open May 28-Aug. 3 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

Offices will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday from July 3-7.

MLLC News 

WELCA Salad Supper is Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion observing the Third Sunday of Pentecost is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday worship with Holy communion is at 10 a.m. Praise Team leads songs and the Noisy Offering for the Cajun Navy will be collected.

Vacation Bible School, with the theme, Scuba, is Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m.

Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.

The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Recycling Trailer 

The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.

Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics are not accepted. They do not take plastic bags.

Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
