Steven and Penny McFarlin along with Larry and Peggy Moore attended the McFarlin-Delvige Family Reunion in Blanco recently. They all had fun with lots of laughter and catching up on what had happened since the last time they had seen each other. Even in the heat they all enjoyed seeing family again and retelling some good stories.

Out and About

Pam Sheffield was in Houston last month where she attended a Houston Astros’ baseball game with her family. Her two oldest grandchildren along with about two hundred other students from their church got to sing the National Anthem for the opening of the game. It was a privilege to get to be there for that and it turned out to be a really good game, too, that the Astros won.

Pam also got to get together with two high school friends, Susi and Holly at the end of the month when they came down to spend a long weekend in the country at Pam’s house. They ate out at Las Fuentes in La Grange and Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia. Then they topped off their tour of local eateries with breakfast at Darlin’s Dinner in Flatonia. The rest of the time, when not eating they had fun watching movies, laughter and just catching up with each other’s lives.

Recently Ron and Pam Knotts went for a belated birthday dinner at the Texas Land and Cattle Company in Austin and enjoyed a great steak dinner and topped it off with apple pie a’ la mode. On the way back they decided to travel the back roads near Bastrop to check out some of the newest housing going up in the area. They were amazed at how fast the backwoods were growing up in that area.

James and Joan Ivy recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary with a quick trip to Fredricksburg. They enjoyed seeing the different scenery and really enjoyed eating at the Hitching Post Steakhouse for their anniversary. It was a quick trip, but a fun one just to walk around and look at what Fredricksburg had to offer.

Jennifer and Clay Rightmer also celebrated a wedding anniversary. They took a quick trip up to Waco where they not only celebrated their anniver-sary, but their daughter, Lane Rightmer’s birthday too.

School Starting

Just a reminder that schools are opening back up and this means the buses will be running. Take extra precaution when driving early in the mornings or late afternoons and watch for the kids along the roads waiting for the bus or exiting off the buses.

Hot and Dry

It is not news that the Muldoon area is very hot and dry right now. Temperatures are hitting over 100 degrees and there are big cracks in the ground as the sun parches the earth. If you need to work outside, do it early morning. Use lots of caution when outdoors in the afternoon and keep hydrated. Dehydration at these temperatures can be very dangerous. Also check on your elderly neighbors to make sure they are staying cool. Muldoon is a small community and we all have to pull together.
