McCubbin is ArtWalk 2026’s Featured Artist
Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) announces Janice McCubbin as the featured artist for this year’s ArtWalk, a fine art festival held annually on Fayetteville’s historic town square. This year’s ArtWalk will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, May 3, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The event, free and open to the public, showcases over 60 artists working in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, and mixed media. In addition to fine art, visitors can enjoy live music, children’s activities, a food and beverage court, and more.
Janice McCubbin is a Houston-based artist and interior designer. She displays a wide range of styles, techniques, and media, painting landscape, architecture, animals, still life, and portrait and figure with exceptional skill.
A longtime friend of ARTS, she has participated in ArtWalk every year since the festival began. You may recognize her work from previous years, or from the promotional billboard along Highway 71. As the featured artist, she created this image specifically for this year’s theme: America the Beautiful.
With a background in interior design, Janice’s paintings bring sophistication and style to any space. Find her work in the Old Firehouse at this year’s festival. For more information on ArtWalk and to preview all this year’s artists, visit www.artsforruraltexas. org/artwalk.
