McCourts Presented With Award from Pope
On Oct. 7 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory in Victoria, Deacon John McCourt and his wife Eileen of Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish in Hostyn were honored with the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifi ce awards by Bishop Brendan Cahill, center. The Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice is the highest award of the Church bestowed by the Holy Father on the faithful. It translates as “For Church and Pope”. Established in 1888 by Pope Leo Xlll, it is currently given for lifelong, distinguished and exemplary service to the Church.
