Maxwell Racking Up The Awards for Her Art
Local Artist, Sally Maxwell, has made a name for herself nationally over the last ten years or so. A Master member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists, Master member of American Women Artists, Signature member of Society of Animal Artists she is often an award winner in their annual shows. This year is no exception with the Award of Excellence from Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine at the AWA annual Museum show “Expanding Horizons “ at the Loveland Museum in Loveland, CO on Sept. 13 for her scratchboard piece entitled “A Circle of Life”.
Also, she was awarded the Peoples Choice at the Prestigious Buffalo Bill Art Show at the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Wyo. on Sept. 19. Her piece “Nuance” went on to take the top bid in the auction of more than 100 pieces of fine art by masters of the Western and Wildlife Genre the following night topping even the previous years final bid amount.
Her next museum show will be at the nearby Brisco Museum in San Antonio March 28-30 for their annual “Night of the Artist” event. A holiday art show is also going to be held at the Compound in Round Top, Nov. 15-17 and she had decided to come out of “show set-up” retirement to join her local friends and followers at it.
