Lots of Fayetteville Events Coming Up

City Council 

The next City Council meeting is this Monday at 7 p.m. in the City offices. City Council meetings are held every third Monday of the month.

74th Annual Bazaar 

St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger will host their 74th Annual Bazaar on Sunday, Aug. 25. Online bidding for auction items will begin this Friday, Aug. 16 and end on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 1 p.m.

Go to stmaryellinger.com and click on the blue Online Auction button to access the site, view the items and register to bid. Ten percent of the proceeds will go to the Turtle Wing Foundation.

Book Signing 

Enjoy a book signing and talk to the author of “Stories from Deep in the Heart” at the Red & White Gallery on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Author Joe Holley is a nationally acclaimed columnist widely loved for his popular “Native Texan” column, which appears in the Houston Chronicle.

Food Pantry 

The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church from 10-11 a.m. this Saturday. will distribute food as clients walk through the line. Everyone needs to bring their own sturdy, clean reusable bags, boxes or plastic tubs. Wagons will be furnished by the food pantry.

Meeting 

A group of Fayetteville and Colorado County citizens supporting FayCoSaysNo are inviting everyone to attend a meeting on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 4:30 7 p.m. at the Columbus Hall/KC Hall at 3845 Interstate 10.

Church News 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
