Locals Win District Fire Poster Titles

Several Fayette County students placed in the Guadalupe District fire poster contest. Slade Mozisek of La Grange Elementary won first place in the Middle Division. He is pictured above with Kenneth Chovanec of the La Grange Volunteer Fire Department. Blake Markwardt of Sacred Heart Catholic School in La Grange, who won first in the Kindergarten Division, is pictured below with Chovanec and La Grange Firefighter Glen Knigge. Not pictured are Kennedy Mikulenka of Flatonia Elementary, who won first place in the Kindergarten Division; Deacon Heinrich of St. Rose Catholic School in Schulenburg, who won third place in the Kindergarten Division; Reagan Skylar of Fayetteville Elementary; who won first place in the Intermediate Division; Adelyn Hollas of St. Rose Catholic School, who won second place in the Intermediate Division; and Summer Dooley of Round Top-Carmine Elementary, who won second place in the Middle Division. Their posters will now advance to the State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association to compete against students from across Texas.
