Local Families Gather for Christmas Festivities

Nancie and Billy Blair were busy over the Christmas holidays. They hosted their daughter, Teresa Holland and friend Christopher Mitchell for Christmas; they traveled to Nancie’s sister, Lu and brother-in-law, Fred Ginapp’s home east of Dallas for Christmas with Nancie’s mom Elaine Lang.They enjoyed a wonderful Christmas service at Elaine’s church on Christmas Eve. They still have more celebrations to come to round out all the family gatherings.
Martin and Nancy Cherry enjoyed having their daughter Anne-Marie Cherry traveling in from Columbus, Georgia.Anne-Marie is on Christmas break from her position as a professor of horn at Columbus State University.
Kathy and Frank Chlumsky enjoyed having daughters Jennifer and Summer, along with their families come for a late Christmas celebration along with a birthday celebration for Frank. They enjoyed a big meal, exchanged gifts and just enjoyed a day of relaxation. All the grandkids, Connor, Hunter, Olivia and Marcus had lots of fun outdoors playing together. They got to feed the donkeys their treats along with the cattle and horses. It was a great day in the country for everyone.
Debra and John Schwartzenburg hosted family for their Christmas dinner. Ted and Nada Burns; Lauren Schwartzenburg and Eric Prause along with Ben Brothers, who came in from Gonzales all enjoyed a great meal along with wonderful fellowship.
Pam Sheffield spent the holidays in Houston with her family. She attended Christmas Eve services at Second Baptist Church with her sister and brother-in-law. On Christmas Day, she and her two daughters with their husbands gathered at her younger daughter’s home for lunch and games. Pam’s sister and brother-in-law also came in and joined in on the fun. Everyone brought their favorite foods making it a most delicious pot luck meal. They spent the afternoon playing their favorite game “Salad Bowl.” Then they spent the rest of the afternoon watching the kids open and enjoy their presents. It was a most enjoyable family Christmas.
Boehnke Christmas
The Devon Boehnke family gathered at his home hosted by Dana and Darrell Kulak. The “BAD” girls, Beth Field, April Pospisil and Dana Kulak and brother Jeremy Wells all had their families in tow making it a wonderful Christmas. Virginia Tappe also came along to enjoy the day with her girls and get to see not only the kids, but the grandkids and great grandbabies too.
The Boehnke bunch enjoyed games, a hayride and lots of outdoors, since the weather held for them. They all enjoyed loads of great food and even more fun visiting and catching up, since they are all so wide spread.
Gatlin Obituary
Amy Gatlin passed away on Dec. 20 at her home in Houston. Amy and her family have had property in the Muldoon area for years and had been planning on a permanent move in the future. Services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Pitman Cemetery. She was laid to rest next to her husband and father.
Amy is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Gatlin and father, Erwin Rauder. She is survived by her mother, Mary Frances Rauder; brother, Ludwig Rauder and his wife Sandy; nieces and nephews, Garrett Rauder, Lindsay Rauder, Chace Rauder and his wife Elizabeth; and her beloved dog Lillie Belle.
