Lions Club Car Show a Big Success
Shrimp Boil
It’s not too early to save the date to dance to live music, throw down ice cold beer, enjoy all-you-can-eat shrimp and lots more. Bring your family and friends to the Fayetteville/ Ellinger KC Shrimp Boil on Friday, May 19. It all kicks off under the pavilion at St. John’s. Free beer during Happy Hour, which runs from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30. Proceeds go toward FISD kids for college scholarships. Look for more information on ticket purchase soon.
Open House
“We wish to thank everyone who attended the JP2 Open House last week,” stated Jamie Moreau, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2. “We loved giving tours of the courtroom and sharing time with guests. If you missed it, feel free to stop into our offices at the square and say hello.”
Baseball

Sing Swap
The Sunday Song Swap at ARTS Gallery in Fayetteville is on the first Sunday of every month from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30. Song Swap artists rotate every month and perform original music, bluegrass, folk and more. Tip opportunities are available for the musicians and for support of ARTS. Beverages are available or BYOB. The admission is free of charge. This Sunday, April 7, enjoy Mike Stroup, Bill Pekar and his bassist Damon Williams.
Pekar is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who’s been playing Americana music since the age of 8. Miranda Lambert opened for him in 2001. “I always play to a listening crowd. It’s a chance to be personable with the audience. I’m a song teller,” stated Pekar. His song, “Colors Are All the Same” about a Texas Longhorn and an Aggie, peaked at #1 on the Texas charts.
Lions Club
Win a chance for a ladies Bulova watch and a variety of guns and ammo by purchasing a $20 raffle ticket now being sold by the Lions Club. Proceeds benefit the Fayetteville Courthouse and FISD scholarships. Tickets can be purchased from Lions Club members and at Orsak’s, Fayetteville Bank, Joe’s, and Circle C General Store. The drawing will be held on April 25.
Food Pantry
The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on Wednesday, April 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. This will no longer be a drive-thru food distribution. Clients will walk up to the entrance and are asked to bring bags or carts for pickup.
Clarification
Disclaimer: It was initially reported that the City offices were to be closed for Good Friday. However, the offices were open until 1 p.m. as the result of a notice from The Fayette County Election Administrator citing Section 31.122 of the Election Code. This was received after the news went to print.
Church News
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
