LHS One Act Play to Hold Town Performance
La Grange High School’s One Act Play troupe will be presenting this season’s production of “Brave Navigator” by David Valdes this Sunday, April 16, at the LG Performing Arts Center at 6 p.m.
Admission is free. This captivating play was inspired by “The Crime of the Century,” the Lindbergh baby kidnapping case of 1932. On the night she can never sleep, the anniversary of the kidnapper’s execution, the widow of America’s early aviator hero is compelled to reveal the story of the kidnapping to her granddaughter. Now in her eighties and swarmed by memories and guilt, “Brave Navigator” flashes back to the trial and her marriage to the famous world traveler, saying, “People do surprising things for love.” “Brave Navigator” is a work of fiction. Though inspired by highly publicized historical events, the characters and their private actions are not intended to be construed as being factuallybased or historically accurate. The play is a fantasia on a mystery and should be viewed as a product of imagination.
Produced in special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
