Ledbetter VFD Preparing for Oct. 8 Fireman’s Feast
The Ledbetter Fireman’s Feast will be held at the Ledbetter Community Center on Saturday, Oct. 8. Serving of a fried chicken dinner begins at 5 p.m. for dine-in or carry-out. There will also be bingo, a live auction, country store, and desserts.
RT-C School News Round Top-Carmine High School JV and varsity volleyball teams play at Burton Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. JV is scheduled to host Aggieland Home School Sept. 16 at 4:30 p.m. High School and Jr. High girls and boys will participate in the Shiner Invitational Cross-Country Meet on Sept. 17 in Shiner.
Carmine VFD Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular monthly meeting is Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.
The burn ban for Fayette County has been lifted. If fire department members have not paid their dues for 2022, they may mail it to P.O. Box 217, Carmine, TX 78932.
Carmine Lions Club The Carmine Lions Club meets Sept. 13.
MLLC News Confirmation classes are Wednesday from 4:15-6:15 p.m. A Bible study follows from 7-8:15 p.m. Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m. Sunday School is Sunday at
9 a.m. Worship with Holy Communion observing the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost is at 10 a.m. The service is also on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Domino Party is Monday at 1 p.m.
Recycling Trailer The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m. Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans. The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
