Ledbetter Lane of Lights Continues this Weekend

The Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights continues this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 16-17. The last day is Dec. 23. Enjoy a hayride through a lighted path of Christmas reflections. Santa will be there each night. Tickets are available from 6-8:30 p.m. at FM 1291 and Hwy 290.

All proceeds go to the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department.

RT-C School News

Round Top-Carmine ISD Holiday Band Concert will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Festival Hill Concert Hall in Round Top.

Varsity girls’basketball team plays at Calvert Dec. 13 at 5 p.m.; while the boys host Leon at 6 p.m. the same day. Varsity boys and girls host Richards Dec. 16 with the first game at 3 p.m.

The Holiday Tree is up at the High School.

RT-C band gave a holiday performance at Giddings Nursing and Rehabilitation recently. They also participated in the lighted Round Top Christmas Parade on Dec. 3.

FCCLA sponsored a Cookie Booth at the Carmine Chamber of Commerce Christmas Fest on Dec. 4. They had baked cutout cookies, and the children enjoyed decorating them with icing.

Dec. 16 is the last day of classes for 2022 with early release at 12:30 p.m. Holiday break continues through Jan. 3. Classes resume on Jan. 4. Teachers have a work day on Jan. 3.

Carmine Lions Club

Carmine Lions Club meets Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Carmine Fire Department Annex Building.

Plans are to play Bingo and have an evening of fun and fellowship. Please bring a party type snack or dessert, if you can.

Carmine VFD

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting night is Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. The department asks residents to have their house numbers located at a visible location, where they can be seen from the road, even at night.

MLLC News

Advent worship service is Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. A meal will be served at 6 p.m. Both will be in the Fellowship Hall.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m. Worship with Holy Communion observing the Fourth Sunday in Advent is at 10 a.m. The service will be on the mllccarmine. com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Domino Party is Monday at 1 p.m.

Recycling Trailer

The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.

Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans. The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.

Visitors’ Center

Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10-a.m.- 2 p.m.
