Learn to Paint Expressive Still Life With Eric Jacobsen
Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) is thrilled to announce an upcoming painting workshop with Eric Jacobsen. Learn to paint expressive still life in oil or acrylic, loosen up your style, and give life and energy to your paintings.
Eric will guide participants through the process of setting up a still life, focusing on overall design, appropriate lighting, material selection, and placement. The workshop will cover composition, color, edges, and the use of expressive brushstrokes. Participants can further enhance their work by paying attention to composition, values, temperature, and paint quality. Beginner to advanced students are welcome. The atmosphere will be informal and friendly, so come and enjoy your time painting still life in a supportive and fun environment.
The workshop will be held Thursday, May 10, through Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the Schmid ARTS Annex (105 Main Street) in Fayetteville, TX. About the Artist:
Eric was born and raised in New England. After receiving his BA in History from Gordon College, he studied fine art at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. His work has achieved national recognition and countless awards and is found in galleries as well as private collections. “It is most important to me that my paintings convey a certain mood”, Eric says. “I want them to be felt by the viewer without his or her having to analyze or think about them.”
