Ladies Bible Study to Begin this Fall in Flatonia

Jennifer Rightmer is going to be offering a Ladies Bible Study this fall starting on Thursday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m. at Flatonia Baptist Church fellowship hall. All area ladies are invited to come and join in this study, “Courageous Joy, Delight in God through Every Season.” Books for the study are $16. Please contact Jennifer at (979) 561-6530 to order your book or for more information on the study. This will be a six weeks study and sure to be a wonderful way to find Joy in a crazy world. You do not need to be a Bible scholar to join in. These Ladies Bible Studies are always a great way to meet other ladies and learn more about God’s word.

Out and About Debra and John Schwartzenburg took off recently to spend some time with their grandchildren, Adeline and Oliver James and they also visited with Adeline and Oliver James’ parents, Michelle and Tommy Mitchell in Connecticut. They had lots of fun with the little ones! They got to enjoy going to the Guilford County Fair, parade and circus that was going on that weekend. It was so much fun with the little ones. Then on Sunday they attended church with the Mitchells at their new church called Vox Church. Vox has a mission of reaching out to the New England area for Christ. It was a great weekend with loads of grandparent spoiling in the cooler weather of the northeast.

Clay and Jennifer Rightmer joined their daughter Lane Rightmer for some Baylor fun at the game on Saturday against Texas State University. Baylor did win 42 to 7.

James and Joan Ivy traveled up to Frisco for the American Society of Civil Engineers Conference. It was a fun time of seeing some new scenery and meeting new people. Joan got in some shopping at some of the local stores while James was in class. They got a chance to sample some local restaurants and just enjoy getting away.

Nancie Blair slipped away to Katy for a birthday party for her two great nephews, Bodie and Hunter Lang. Also in attendance was Nancie’s brother and sister in law (the boys grandparents), Jerry and Karla Lang. They brought along another of their grandchildren, Jenna Reed to enjoy the festivities. They had a blast with all the extended family. It was a great time to catch up with all the excitement of a new school year as students, teacher and counselor.

Darrell and Dana Kulak took off to Bowling for a family gathering over the weekend, meanwhile their son; Elton Kulak came in to Muldoon to visit with Grandpa Devon Boehnke. Darrell and Dana did make it back from Bowling to visit with Elton before he headed back home to Fort Worth.

Neighborhood Watch There are lots of new people in the area. This means there is lots more traffic traveling down the roads. Be aware of traffic patterns and drive carefully. Drivers, also need to watch out for the increase in joggers/walkers who are out exercising, especially in the cooler times of the day. Those out exercising on roadways, either FM or county road need to wear bright colored clothes to be seen by drivers, be aware of traffic and move to the side of the road, and do not wear both earphones in order to hear upcoming traffic. Take time to get out and get to know your neighbor if you see them out and about, stop and say “Hi.” Muldoon is a small community that has expanded by leaps and bounds in the past couple years. This can be seen by all the new homes that have been put in. We all need to watch out for each other as our community grows.

Hogs The hogs have moved in once again. They seem to travel in and out of the area and right now they seemed to have moved back in. Watch out on the roads for “moving black spots.” Some of the hogs are huge and can cause a lot of damage to a vehicle.
